Denver woman jokes while ordering boyfriend’s birthday cake. She didn’t expect them to take her seriously: ‘I bet those bakers were laughing so hard’

A Denver woman didn’t just have her cake, she ate it too—in more ways than one. TikToker Taylor Black (@taylormakesvideos) has gone viral after the cake she purportedly ordered for her boyfriend contained a hilarious surprise.
In the clip, which has amassed 9.1 million views, Black’s boyfriend was standing over a cake, laughing. As she approached her boyfriend with the camera, she too couldn’t contain her laughter as she said, “I’m sorry! I didn’t think they were gonna take it seriously.”
“Don’t show people!” the boyfriend said in response.
The camera then panned to the cake, which, written with cursive frosting, reads: “Happy birthday [expletive] ha ha don’t write that his name is Colton.”
“I can’t believe you!” the boyfriend added. “It’s my birthday!”
He then showed the purported bakery’s receipt to the camera, which includes apparent confirmation of the customized text that is on the cake.
Accompanying the clip is on-screen text reading: “Our bakery has no chill.” The same thing is written in the video description.
Black also shared another clip of the cake a few days prior to uploading this TikTok, where she filmed her own reaction.

Commenters shared their own unusual cake stories
In the comments, users shared their own colorful cake stories.
One similarly-designed cake shared in the comments said, “Can you put ‘Happy Birthday’ but not in cursive please, IDK if my friends can read cursive after drinking. LOL thanks!!”
A second showed off their blue gender-reveal cake, which would’ve been all well and good if it wasn’t an ‘It’s a Girl’ cake.
A third shared a picture of their “CUN Hawaii” cake which, they said, was meant to say “see you in Hawaii.”
While a fourth recounted, “One time I told the attendant my daughters name was Sofia with and F. They wrote ‘Happy birthday fophia’ on her birthday cake.”
Is this story true?
However, it’s possible that this bakery doesn’t exist at all. As well as being unable to find the bakery online, The Mary Sue’s email to the bakery at the address shown on the receipt bounced back. We were also unable to get through to the phone number on the receipt.
In addition to this, a commenter shared a screenshot of the yellow label on the front of the cake, which they say is a telltale sign that it was a Safeway cake, not one from ‘Sweet Street Bakery.’
“Def a Safeway cake,” a second commenter added. “I worked as a baker at one. I scoped that chocolate sticker on the top from a mile away.”
While a third speculated, “Also like, did no one else notice that the writing in the cake kinda sucked? She obviously wrote it herself.”
So, it may well be another case of not believing what you see on the internet.
Black didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment, Facebook message, and email.
