Recently, renowned singer and rapper Nicki Minaj, known for tracks like Super Bass and Barbie World, made an appearance at a United Nations event where she spoke out about the violence against Christians in Nigeria by the Muslim population. Her comments reflected the issues that Donald Trump and his Republican allies have been trying to bring attention to for weeks, with Trump even going so far as to state that he would send troops into Nigeria “guns a-blazing” if the government continues to allow the “killing of Christians.”

In her remarks about the faith-based, ruthless killings occurring in Nigeria, Nicki Minaj said:

..In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes and killed. Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly simply because of how they pray. Sadly, this problem is not only a growing problem in Nigeria but also in so many other countries across the world — and it demands urgent action.”

She added that “protecting Christians” in Nigeria is not about “taking sides” or “dividing people” but rather about “uniting humanity,” while also highlighting that Nigeria is a “beautiful nation” with “deep faith traditions” and many “wonderful Barbz” she looks forward to meeting. She expressed several other thoughts, mainly focusing on the idea that everyone deserves to practice their religion without the fear of being targeted for it. Additionally, she encouraged religious harmony by emphasising the importance of being tolerant towards all faiths and fostering a brotherhood in which everyone could support each other.

While those who watched Nicki Minaj’s speech largely agreed with her on most points, there was notable disagreement on a specific issue. During her speech, Nicki Minaj thanked President Donald Trump for highlighting the violence against Christians in Nigeria, which some people found objectionable. Given the current political climate in the United States and Trump’s controversial reputation, many felt he was not the best person to thank at the moment.

Following the incident, viewers did a deep dive on the internet and found that Minaj has been sharing a lot of MAGA-related content on her social media, hinting at her approval of the group’s beliefs. Recently, she even commented on a video uploaded by The White House’s TikTok account featuring Donald Trump and Melania, using the viral tune of “Beez In The Trap x What’s Up?” where she stated, “This is pretty incredible.”

All of this has led her fans to believe that Nick Minaj is a MAGA supporter, making them reconsider their choices, with some even having second thoughts about following her and her music in the future.
