‘He’s a 12-year-old playing army’: Mark Kelly just clapped back at war criminal Pete Hegseth so hard, his ego might never recover

During the Trump administration, United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has become one of the most controversial figures in American politics. In recent weeks, he has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons, and it seems that he may not be able to escape the consequences of his actions this time, unless, of course, King Donald decides to intervene and save his child from the chaos of his own making.
For the last few weeks, Pete Hegseth has been under intense public scrutiny due to what can only be described as his reckless decision-making skills. In the first week of September, he ordered a strike on a Venezuelan boat in the Caribbean Sea, which was suspected of carrying individuals involved in drug trafficking. While the first strike was legal, Hegseth also ordered a second strike on the same boat, which resulted in the deaths of two survivors from the first attack, an act that is clearly unlawful. Since then, Hegseth has claimed he did not give that order, and Donald Trump has echoed that sentiment. However, multiple pieces of evidence suggest that both of them may be lying.
In the centre of all this, Mark Kelly, the senior Senator from Arizona, has spoken out against Pete Hegseth after Trump and the Republicans repeatedly attacked him. In a recent speech that was quite hard-hitting, Kelly took aim at Pete Hegseth, calling out the misdeeds he has been involved in while being protected by his current governmental role. “Think about it: He runs around on stage discussing lethality, warrior ethos, and killing people. We have the most skilled and capable military this world has ever known. That’s not the message that should come from the Secretary of Defence,” he stated, adding, “he behaves like a 12-year-old pretending to be in the army. It’s ludicrous, it’s embarrassing, and I can’t imagine what our allies think when they see that guy in such a crucial position in our country.”]
He continued, “He is part of the national command authority for nuclear weapons, and just last night he was sharing online videos of turtles with rocket-propelled grenades. Have you seen this? This is the Secretary of Defence we’re talking about; this is not a serious individual. He should have been let go after Signalgate, and every day since then.”
As Kelly’s comments about Hegseth made their way to social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), many people agreed with him, while a few conservative-leaning individuals continued to express their support for members currently serving under the Trump administration, including Pete Hegseth.
