‘He thinks he’s a gift to women’: Brooke Shields says Donald Trump asked her out, but she shot him down

A video from a few years ago about United States President Donald Trump has been circulating on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), and everyone should see it. This specific video features American actress Brooke Shields, known for films like Pretty Baby (1978), The Blue Lagoon (1980), and Mother of the Bride (2024), who, during an interview with Andy Cohen, mentioned that Trump approached her, indicating a willingness to date her.
Recollecting the incident, Shields revealed that after Trump had called her, he had pitched the idea of them being a couple solely because he believed people wanted to see it happen, since they were both well known in their respective fields. Discussing the moment, Shields showed visible disgust and a willingness to wipe it from her mind. We get it, Brooke, we understand!
Brooke Shields shot Donald Trump down
In 2017, when Brooke Shields appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, she was reminded of an old photograph showing her with U.S. President Donald Trump. As soon as Cohen mentioned the picture, Shields showed discomfort and reluctance to discuss its context. Despite this, Cohen continued to bring up the topic and asked if Trump had flirted with her during the event, to which Shields responded negatively.
Brooke Shields then added to the conversation, saying that Trump did ask her out later, but she did not go out with him. Remembering the incident, Shields said she was on a shoot location when she received a call from Trump, “right after” he had gotten a divorce, who expressed interest in dating her. Remembering what Trump had said during that time, Shields said, “He said, ‘I really think we should date because you’re America’s sweetheart and I’m America’s richest man, and the people would love it.” She also recalled what she had said in return. She said that she already had a boyfriend and that he wouldn’t like it if she went ahead with the proposal.
Trump asked out other famous people as well
Brooke Shields is not the only actress Donald Trump approached with the intention of dating. In 2017, another actress, Emma Thompson, known for films such as Sense and Sensibility (1995), Primary Colors (1998), and Love Actually (2003), revealed that Trump had also expressed interest in dating her. As reported in an ABC News article published on October 4, 2017, Thomson was asked out by Trump to go on a date, but she refused. Like Shields, Thomson had also received a call from Trump while she was filming. Recalling the moment she said that when she received the call, she was in her trailer, and Trump was showing interest in taking her out for dinner, but she said that she would get back to him later, but never did.
Expressing disappointment over not going on the date, Thomson cheekily said, “I wish I had! Think of the stories!”
