Go to an ACTUAL movie theater to see ‘The Odyssey’ trailer

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is now less than a year away. So to celebrate, Universal released a trailer for the film! But there’s a twist: It is only playing in theaters so you’ll have to see their new film, Jurassic Park Rebirth, to see it.

People are obviously excited about the follow up to Nolan’s Best Picture winner Oppenheimer. But what is happening currently is people are heading to the theater, filming the trailer, and posting it online for those who don’t want to go see a movie right now. Frankly, that’s boring. And before you yell at me about movies being expensive, let me explain: There are ways to get a cheap ticket to enjoy the theatrical experience of The Odyssey trailer without breaking the bank.

Maybe you wait it out and head to a matinee. Those tickets are cheaper and you get to watch the trailer as Nolan would want you to. The point is you should want to see the trailer in a movie theater. The entire point of releasing it only in theaters is to inspire people to go to the cinema. So you filming it and posting it online is truly doing the opposite of the filmmaker’s wishes.

It’s a busy time. I know, I want nothing more than to be able to drop everything and head to the theater to see this but I can’t. Instead of trying to seek it out online, I’ll find time to go to the movies and see it for myself next week because I also want to see it on the big screen. That’s a magical experience!

So why not go and enjoy the dino movie and get to experience Christopher Nolan’s trailer for The Odyssey as he wanted you to see it?

One of my favorite movie memories is rushing to see a trailer

After Avatar: The Way of Water was released, rumor was that there was an extended IMAX trailer for Oppenheimer, Barbie, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. So my friend and I, who were at a press screening, booked tickets for the next screening and ran up into the theater so that we could watch these trailers.

We gave the movie money, saw the trailers we wanted, and then went home happy with our decisions. That is something I cherish and I do think that this has the chance of giving others that same kind of memory. That, to me, is the beautiful of the movies. Well, and the beauty of the AMC Stubs program where I have movies on my account that are basically free throughout the month.

To me, this is an easy decision. I’d happily head to the movie theater for Christopher Nolan anyway but doing it so that I can see the epic poem come to life? That is just a no-brainer. Get your tickets, head to the theaters, or just wait until it is released online but do not film it and post it on your social media.
