Gina Rodriguez to Reportedly Play Carmen Sandiego in Brand New Netflix Animated Series

Recommended Videos

It seems that the search for a Carmen Sandiego is nearing an end.

According to The Tracking Board, Netflix is reportedly close to sealing a 20-episode order for a Carmen Sandiego animated series. Moreover, they’re looking to bring on Jane the Virgin‘s Gina Rodriguez. Yeah, I know, right?!

Thing is, this is still a tiny bit rumory, as the Tracking Board says that these are coming from “insider reports,” so you know, take that with a massive grain of salt. Still, it’s fun to think about how close we are to seeing Carmen Sandiego on the screen again, and with an excellent actress voicing her, to boot. Also according to the reports, the show “aims to be as educational as it is entertaining, given the title character’s globetrotting adventures.” Nice. So no game show (aww) but plenty of edu-tainment to complement that Magic School Bus series also coming up.

Rodriguez certainly has her plate full, even if these Carmen Sandiego rumors happen to not pan out. She’s lending her voice talent to The Star, an animated Christmas movie, plus she just wrapped her work on Ferdinand as well.

You excited for a new Carmen Sandiego show?
