‘Genius sequence’: CNN’s Jake Tapper clocks Kristi Noem live, leaving her almost speechless

The United States Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, JD Vance, and Donald Trump maintain that the victim of the recent ICE shooting in Minnesota, Renee Good, was an aggressor who simply faced the consequences of her actions.
However, video footage of the incident available on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) depicts otherwise. The footage shows that the agent who shot Good could have easily avoided taking the drastic step that resulted in her death. However, shameless Kristi Noem is unwilling to accept it.
On January 11, 2026, United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem appeared on CNN and answered multiple questions from host Jake Tapper, who was enquiring about the shooting incident involving Renee Good. While Noem repeatedly maintained that Good had weaponised her vehicle against the ICE agent, who then shot and killed her in “self-defence”, Tapper questioned how she had reached that conclusion despite the investigation into the matter still being ongoing. He also noted that, based on eyewitness observation, it was widely believed that Good was trying to turn her vehicle away from the officers, potentially trying to flee the scene, when the agent shot at him. If that was the actual case, he asked, how correct it was for the officer to act in that way and what the next steps would be in the investigation. In a particularly intense moment for Kristi Noem, which is currently going viral on social media, she can be seen telling host Jake Tapper that she was “grateful” that the officer who Renee Good allegedly attacked was alive. Tapper agreed and said that he was glad too that he survived. It is what Tapper did next that has got a lot of people virtually clapping for him. Playing a video in his possession, possibly body cam footage, in which Officer Ross (the one who shot and killed Renee Good) was seen calling Good a bit, Tapper asked Noem, “Is that Agent Ross’s voice calling Renee Good a Fu***** Bit*?” Noem, visibly a bit shaken by the direct question, looked confused before almost accepting that it “could be” agent Ross who was uttering the distasteful remarks about Renee Good.
During the same interview, another moment that is generating significant interest among the public is the one where Jake Tapper asked Kristi Noem about the January 6 rioters and the fact that they were all pardoned by Trump despite them attacking law enforcement officers, the same people Noem and individuals of the current administration have repeatedly vouched to protect against all odds. Highlighting the selective support shown by the members of the current administration towards members of law enforcement, Tapper said, “There’s a different standard for law enforcement officials being attacked, if they’re being attacked by Trump supporters. We just saw that.”
