‘Donald Trump is going to absolutely lose it’: Manhattan District Attorney who brought criminal charges against Donald Trump just got re-elected
Donald Trump is probably not having the best week. With the Democrats sweeping the recent elections, I assume Trump is hiding somewhere and having a mental breakdown (unless he is taking time off to think about what vile nonsense he will post on Truth Social next). Moreover, he has additional reasons to be concerned, as Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney who secured a conviction against him in 2024 for paying “hush money” to a porn star he had an affair with, was re-elected on Tuesday.
Alvin Bragg, who won as the Manhattan District Attorney on Tuesday despite tough competition from the opposition, did not base his re-election campaign on his conviction of Donald Trump; in fact, he didn’t even mention it. However, this historic event loomed over him and rightly so, as he became the first person ever to convict a former President of any crimes.
Bragg’s win has sparked a lot of conversations among people, especially regarding his relationship with Trump or rather the absence of one. On social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), these discussions are particularly concentrated. One person, while highlighting that Donald Trump will be the most affected by Bragg’s win, stated:
HOLY COW: Donald Trump is going to absolutely LOSE IT. Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney who brought criminal charges against him has JUST WON REELECTION.”
Another individual pointed out the lengths Trump went to vilify Bragg after his conviction and noted how Bragg’s landslide win was a significant blow to Trump and all those who sought to silence or intimidate him. They remarked:
Trump tried to punish Bragg by revoking his security clearance in Feb ’25. Voters just answered with a 73.8% landslide – the loudest rebuke of a president weaponizing power against democracy. When Trump cries “rigged,” remember: his own defeat came certified by the people.”
