‘Do we know that happened?’: Shameless Lara Trump claims that people misheard Donald Trump’s ‘quite piggy’ comment directed at female journalist

Donald Trump has a track record of making problematic comments about women and has often managed to avoid repercussions for them. However, in 2025, people are no longer tolerating bad behaviour.

Recently, Donald Trump has faced significant backlash due to his remarks made during a recent interaction with a female journalist on Air Force One. When the journalist asked him to elaborate on the Epstein investigation and why the disgraced financier and sex offender’s infamous files were not being released, Trump looked visibly disturbed and shushed the reporter by saying “quiete piggy” while making a finger on the lip gesture. This incident has garnered significant attention, and many have pointed out that it is common for Donald Trump to display such unacceptable behaviour, especially towards women, as he has notoriously always been disrespectful towards them. Trump’s “quiet piggy” comment has also become a source of humour and memes on social media platforms, often used by his opponents to mock him. Even Gavin Newsom joined in on the trend and called him out.

In the aftermath of these events, Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, is claiming that people misheard his comments. During a recent appearance on Club Random with Bill Maher, Lara Trump stated that Donald Trump might have said “McGee” instead of “piggy” when addressing the female journalist. In a segment of the episode, when Lara asked Bill Maher how Republicans could better connect with their audience, Maher responded, “Don’t do things like call a woman a piggy.” In response, Lara said:

“Do we know that happened… Or did he say McGee?”

She continued by mentioning that Donald Trump is an “equal opportunity offender”, highlighting that he gave Benjamin Netanhyu “a lot of crap” when he thought that he wasn’t doing “things right.” She also brought up Joe Biden and the fact that he called someone “pony face dog soldier,” in an attempt to excuse Trump’s behaviour.
