Dementia Don strikes again with his false claims about Pete Hegseth’s alleged war crimes

It’s a common understanding that Donald Trump tends to forget things shortly after he says them, but this occurrence has surged dramatically in the last few months, raising alarms among many. A significant portion of the internet believes he may be dealing with cognitive issues, which seems logical given the numerous cognitive evaluations and MRIs he has recently undergone (and bragged about). Conversely, another group thinks that Trump is simply showcasing his typical manipulative behaviour. Personally, I believe both sides have a point. But, I guess, my opinion doesn’t hold much weight since you can observe and decide for yourself, because there’s plenty of information available online.

Getting back to the issue at hand, during a recent press conference, Donald Trump appeared to completely forget what he had said to the press just a few days earlier. When asked if he would be willing to release the video footage of the second strike on the Venezuelan boat, which could show if Pete Hegseth was the one giving the orders, Trump had responded positively, giving people a false sense of hope about discovering the truth related to the case. However, when he was recently asked to confirm his stance on the matter again and questioned if he still stood by his decision to release the video as he had previously stated, Trump went back on his promise and claimed he had never said such a thing. Additionally, he even behaved poorly towards the interviewer who was questioning him, calling the news channel she represented, ABC News, a “fake” news channel.

This incident clearly did not go unnoticed by those who are now well aware of Donald Trump’s tendency to make false promises and not follow through. Clips of the interaction went viral on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter). While a significant portion of users on the platform expressed their disdain for Trump, highlighting his deflection tactics and selective memory, others pointed out that the journalist he was addressing was a woman, and his behaviour towards her was consistent with his reputation for mistreating women, particularly female journalists. Furthermore, another group of people speculated about how Donald Trump might be trying to protect Pete Hegseth from facing consequences for his actions related to the Caribbean Sea strikes, especially since he is a valuable asset to his corrupt administration.
