Chef’s kiss! Marjorie Taylor Greene just refuted Mike Johnson’s women’s ‘champion’ image in front of everyone

United States Representative from Georgia’s 14th congressional district, Marjorie Taylor Greene, is rebuking all claims about the Republican Party being a woman-friendly party. She is making it clear that their politics of equality is surface-level and vanishes the moment no one’s looking.
You can’t expect members of a party whose representative continually belittles, dismisses, and insults women to be advocates for women’s rights. Still, there are some who believe that the Republican Party could serve as a voice for feminism, and they are now facing deep disappointment.
In a recent appearance on CNN’s The Situation Room, Marjorie Taylor Greene was asked if House Speaker Mike Johnson was indeed a champion of women, as he claimed to be, to which she responded with a firm no. Additionally, she called Johnson a hypocrite for demonstrating double standards in his treatment of women, pointing out that he often says one thing and does another. She also emphasised that he does not take the suggestions of women officials in government seriously, stating that he frequently delays bringing issues to a vote in the House and Senate, and in some cases, does not bring them to the floor at all. She stated:
“I don’t know how he can speak out of one side of his mouth, but his actions fully show the hypocrisy.”
She continued to point out specific examples where the input from female representatives of the Republican Party was dismissed by Speaker Mike Johnson. She cited Anna Paulina Luna, the U.S. representative for Florida’s 13th congressional district, and Elise Marie Stefanik, the U.S. representative for New York’s 21st congressional district, as two individuals who had offered valuable suggestions to Speaker Mike Johnson, but he refused to allow them to be voted on because he “sidelines” women and does not take them seriously. She said:
“Anna Paulina Luna, she has a discharge petition now on a bill that she fully believes in to change the way members of Congress are allowed to own stocks, and she has that in a discharge petition, can’t get the support from the Speaker to bring it to the floor for a vote. You’ve seen Elise Stefanik. She went to war with the speaker just last week over an amendment she had that was extremely important. So you’re seeing Republican women lash out directly at the Speaker because he sidelines us and doesn’t take us seriously.”
As clips of MTG completely dismantling Mike Johnson spread across social media, many people agreed with her statements. However, many also warned against taking Taylor Greene’s criticism of her party members too seriously, as she is not exactly an unproblematic figure herself and is only speaking out against her party now because she feels wronged by them.
