Charlotte Woman Waits Days for Her JetBlue Bag. Then Her $4K Louis Vuitton Shades and Gucci Slides Vanish, and Airline Blames the Claim Window

A delayed suitcase can do more than disrupt a trip. For one Charlotte woman, it became a much bigger problem after she says several expensive belongings disappeared before her luggage was returned.

Her story has caught attention on TikTok, where she described spending most of a three-day trip without her checked bag. What she says happened after she finally picked it up has left many viewers questioning how delayed luggage is handled.

TikTok creator @kenelimo says she flew from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on JetBlue. After waiting days for her suitcase, she says she opened it to find several designer items missing.

She thought the worst was over

She says her flight landed in Fort Lauderdale at around 3:15 p.m. After waiting at baggage claim without seeing her suitcase, another passenger suggested she visit JetBlue’s baggage service office because several other travelers were also missing luggage.

At the baggage office, she says an employee asked her to identify three items from the suitcase and said she would be contacted once it was found. She says she asked how long it would take but was only told she would be notified when it was ready.

Has this happened to anyone else?! ? I flew with @JetBlue airlines for the first time and my experience was a complete nightmare. My bag and a few others bags was “left off” a flight from Charlotte, North Carolina to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Days later, I finally got the call to pick it up, only to find almost 4k worth of my belongings were missing. LV shades, 2 designer bags, 2 pairs of designer shoes, my Christian louboutin heels, my phone charger, Fashion Nova clothes, and even my makeup bag…gone. If you don’t already, please invest in a suitcase with a combination lock or use a carry on bag, if you have anything you care about in your luggage! #jetblue #airport #airlines #tsa #travel

She says no one contacted her that day or the next. Without her luggage, she says she bought a new wardrobe so she could continue her trip.

She says JetBlue called her on the evening of the third day and told her the suitcase had arrived from Charlotte. Rather than waiting for it to be delivered, she says she chose to pick it up herself at the airport.

The creator says she signed for the bag and left without opening it. Once she returned to where she was staying, she says she discovered several belongings were missing.

She claims her Louis Vuitton sunglasses, a pair of Christian Louboutin heels, two pairs of Gucci slides, designer handbags, Fashion Nova dresses, and a makeup bag were gone. She says nearly half of the contents of her suitcase had disappeared.

She says she immediately returned to the airport to report the missing belongings. However, she says airline employees told her that claims for stolen or missing items had to be submitted online.

She says the online system rejected her claim because her flight had landed days earlier, even though she had just received the suitcase. She then called JetBlue’s customer service but says the wait time was several hours.

She says airport supervisors told her they could not process the claim in person. She adds that employees denied JetBlue was responsible, while another pointed to TSA because officers sometimes open checked bags. She says no one could explain what happened to her belongings.

She says she later filed a police report. A supervisor reportedly told her that leaving the airport before reporting the missing items could affect her compensation, though any investigation would include reviewing surveillance footage if needed.

The creator’s experience comes as other JetBlue passengers have also shared baggage problems. One New York City woman previously said the airline lost her luggage, leaving her without clothes or makeup during a Florida trip, while a Boston traveler said her suitcase arrived broken after a flight before JetBlue later replaced it.

The video drew responses from viewers, many of whom shared their own travel experiences and advice. “All my expensive things like my slides purses and jewelry and shoes I keep them on my carry on,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “This happened to me before and I got every dime back by filing a claim.”
