Australia Fans Stormed a Texas Walmart After a FIFA World Cup Match: ‘We’re Going to Walmart’

There are several retail and fast-food places every tourist has to visit at least once in the United States. Walmart, the grocery bulk-buying retail chain, became a recent target destination for a bunch of Australians. A massive horde of tourists, still wearing Team Australia jerseys, stormed into a local branch in Dallas, Texas.
A video went viral on social media after it captured what appeared to be Team Australia fans that were slowly marching to a local Walmart in Dallas, Texas. The video is captioned “When Aussies found Walmart for the first time.”
“We’re going to Walmart,” the crowd chanted, as they all started marching in droves. Men, women, and children in the distinct Team Australia jerseys were entering the establishment. At least one man in the video even had the Australian flag draped on his shoulders.
The Walmart was packed with fans in yellow jerseys, jumping around and chanting the cheer for the Australian team. From the looks of it, it almost seemed as though Australia were the advancing team at the FIFA World Cup. Perhaps the most hilarious bit of information is that these fans stormed Walmart after their team lost to Team Egypt.
Cops got called to disperse the Aussies in Walmart
Unfortunately, cops were called to disperse the crowd. But that didn’t break the spirit of the Australians in the crowd. Many of them jokingly chanted, “We’re getting deported!”
Meanwhile, some on their way out were also chanting, “We just went to Walmart.” Another group said, “Walmart again, again!”
It’s unclear what led the mass of Australian fans to the local Walmart. This may as well be the closest thing the internet has to the storming of Area 51.
One commenter complained about the police getting involved. They ranted, “Why are police involved in this? Don’t they have real crimes in the US to deal with?”
Despite the abrupt disbandment of the crowd by police, social media was amused by the phenomenon, with many joking about the surreal event.
The strangest phenomenon of the 2026 FIFA World Cup
A commenter joked, “Imagine you work at Walmart for 15 bucks an hour and see this coming.” Others agreed with the sentiment, imagining that the employees must have been horrified to hear the ominous chanting of a bunch of sports fans headed their way.
Someone else said, “The fact that they narrated their whole trip is sending me.” There are many other places to go to—they could have stormed an In-and-Out, a Home Depot, or maybe even a Dollar Tree—but for some bizarre reason, it had to be a local Walmart.
Another person said that the location must have been “the most crowded Walmart in history.” It’s a debatable claim, considering that retail stores across the country are also usually packed during Black Friday sales.
A social media user claimed to be there when the Aussies stormed the Walmart. They wrote on TikTok, “i was there y’all it was insane I was scared but it was funny and I have a recording of all of it.”
An Instagram user laughed the bizarre event off, saying that worse things have happened in Walmart. With all the strange, and at times unpleasant, Walmart encounters people have on a regular basis, a bunch of hyped-up sports fans seem to be the least terrifying thing to witness.
