As Trump celebrates Robert Mueller’s death, an old clip of JD Vance resurfaces, highlighting this administration’s hypocrisy

Donald Trump is not known for being the most empathetic, especially toward those not in his good books, and he is demonstrating this once again. After it was announced that Robert Mueller had passed away on March 20, 2026, several influential figures extended their condolences to the former FBI director and his family. Donald Trump also used Truth Social to comment on him, saying a few words, but they weren’t particularly kind.
On March 21, 2026, Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social account that he was glad Robert Mueller had passed away, much to the dismay of many, including his followers, who flooded the comments section to criticise his conduct. He wrote, “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”For those unfamiliar, Mueller was part of a special counsel that led the investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election, which Trump won, becoming president of the United States for the first term.
JD Vance’s video emerges amidst Trump criticism over Robert Mueller’s death
As Donald Trump continues to face criticism for his comments about Robert Mueller’s death, an old video of the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, is circulating on social media, highlighting the hypocrisy within the current administration. In this video, Vance, using very strong language, states that anyone celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk (American right-wing activist and founder of Turning Point USA) should face consequences for their actions.
One of the things he says in the video is, “If you celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death, you should not be protected from being fired for being a disgusting person.” He says several other things in this video as well, but they are mostly along the same lines. Several months later, Vance has not spoken a word against Trump’s comments about Robert Mueller, who was, by the way, registered as a Republican.
Scott Bessent urges people to show ‘empathy’ to Donald Trump
During his recent appearance on NBC News’s Meet the Press, United States Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent was asked to comment on Donald Trump’s remarks about the demise of Robert Mueller. While answering the question, Bessent maintained his stance, emphasising that Trump wasn’t wrong to make such a harsh comment about Mueller because Mueller had previously wronged him.
Scott Bessent urged people to show Trump some empathy for what he had endured when, under Mueller’s guidance, the FBI raided his house and went through his and his wife, Melania’s, belongings to look for evidence related to vote tampering, suggesting Russian interference during the 2016 elections.
