‘America is in very serious trouble’: Donald Trump believes Marjorie ’Traitor’ Greene is a ‘nice person’ despite their philosophies not matching

After a series of hate comments directed at her by Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene has finally decided to step down from her role as United States Representative for Georgia’s 14th congressional district, effective January 5, 2026. She announced her resignation via a video message that she shared on multiple social media platforms. She also attached a written statement with the video.

On Friday, everyone was shocked to learn that Marjorie Taylor Greene would be resigning from her current Representative position in the coming year. Among a list of other things, she identified the growing divide between her and her other party members’ (including Trump’s) mindsets on crucial matters as the reason behind her decision. She emphasised that she had been loyal to the Republican Party for the last couple of years, but couldn’t agree with them on a few matters owing to her personal politics that override White House politics, noting that she does not deserve to be villainised for that by her own people. She also stressed that she has always represented the people of America and has made decisions that she thought would be best for the people of the country.

As Marjorie Taylor Greene’s speech started to gain momentum on social media, another video covering a similar topic started to share the spotlight. Donald Trump was caught by a few reporters at the White House and was asked if he would “forgive” Marjorie Taylor Greene, to which he replied:

“Forgive for what? I just disagreed with her philosophy. She started backing perhaps the worst Republican congressman in our history, you know stupid person named Massie. I said go your own way. Once I left her, she resigned because she would never have survived a primary. But I think she’s a nice person.”

Trump’s comments about MTG invited a lot of online criticism, especially on X (formerly Twitter), where one person said:

“America is in very serious trouble.”

Another person, while expressing confusion over Trump’s contradicting comments about Taylor Greene, remarked:

“What? Is she a “nice person” or a “traitor”?”

Several others shared similar sentiments of uncertainty and chaos over the topic.
