A delivery driver just received the ‘best tip ever’ and it wasn’t cash or a check, but a stowaway that wouldn’t say goodbye
Best day at work.

A pizza delivery driver recently shared an incredible story on Reddit, detailing how a routine delivery run turned into them receiving what they’re calling the “best tip ever” — a fluffy tabby cat who literally jumped into their car and refused to leave. This heartwarming tale, posted by u/renn_is_not_a_loser on March 22, 2026, quickly struck a chord with animal lovers, racking up over 14,000 upvotes and tons of adorable comments.
According to Newsweek, the driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, recounted the initial encounter back in December. They had just pulled up to a house to drop off a pizza when “the sweetest cat” darted right up to their car. Before they knew it, the little furball had hopped right in when the driver opened their door.
Naturally, the driver assumed the cat belonged to the customer or someone else in the neighborhood. They gave the cat a few pets and then gently placed her back outside. However, that assumption quickly fell apart when the driver got to the door. “When I got to the door, I told the guy how sweet of a cat he had,” they said. However, it turns out she wasn’t his cat!
The delivery driver was in for a big surprise
The driver learned that the cat’s previous owners, who used to live in that very house, had moved away and just left her behind. While some kind neighbors occasionally fed her, no one was able to take her in permanently because they already had too many pets.
Given the circumstances, the driver didn’t hesitate. “Needless to say, when offered to take her with me, I did,” the cat’s new owner shared. “How someone could abandon such a sweet and friendly healthy girl.”
The now-famous feline, affectionately named Ringo Starr, has undergone quite the transformation since that fateful pizza delivery. The Reddit post included several images that really show her journey. One picture captures her very first vet appointment, where she received a clean bill of health despite having some matted fur when she was found. Another image takes us back to the very first day she met her new human.
The remaining photos show Ringo “living her best life indoors, safe and healthy.” You can see her stretched out comfortably, looking totally at home and incredibly content in her new digs. It’s clear she’s found her forever home, and it really warms your heart to see. Reddit users were absolutely thrilled by the story and Ringo’s new life.
The comments section exploded with praise for both the cat and her new owner. “You both are so amazing. I’m glad you adopted each other,” one viewer wrote, perfectly summing up the sentiment. Another added, “Omg she is so precious! Just a beautiful girl. I don’t know how someone could have left her behind, but it’s obvious she upgraded her human!”
