A Klingon Christmas Carol Needs Your Help

Recommended Videos

For those of you wondering what A Klingon Christmas Carol is, the name says it all: It’s Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” performed by Klingons, in the Klingon language (don’t worry, they use subtitles for those of us who don’t speak Klingon).  Up until recently, the only place to see A Klingon Christmas Carol was Minneapolis.  That, however, is about to change.

Commedia Beauregard, the intrepid theater group and Star Trek fans behind A Klingon Christmas Carol have just launched their own kickstarter page in hopes of raising $10,000 by June so that they can take their show to Chicago this Christmas.  If you’re curious what a Klingon theater production might look like, make sure to watch the sales pitch on their kickstarter page.  Or you could watch this:

As with all kickstarter campaigns, the more you pitch in, the more compelling (or in this case, honorable) your returns.  Some of the more unique rewards for donating include a prosthetic “ridged forehead” or a “hunk of bat’leth.”  For top-tier donations, you’ll earn yourself a “walk-on role for one night of production,” complete with your very own “Klingon elocution lesson.”  Kahless knows we could all stand to brush up on our Klingon.

So, what are you waiting for?  Qapla!
