A Fast & Furious Heist in Egypt Ends With 300 Pounds of Frozen Chicken Stolen and 3 Dead
A 'Hollywood-style heist' goes viral, but doesn't end well.

Heists seem to be all the rage these days, whether it’s of beer, jewelry, or revered Bronze Age treasures. One recent heist in Egypt stands out, though, as it involved antics straight out of The Fast and the Furious franchise. The stolen product this time? Frozen chicken.
According to Al Khaleej, the heist went down in August 2026, and thanks to another driver recording the incident, it went viral. In fact, the video clip is how authorities found out about the dramatic chicken theft before a report about stolen goods was even filed.
Though the thieves escaped with approximately 300 pounds of frozen chicken, authorities used the video clip to help track the criminals down. The investigation led back to a gang. Upon approaching the gang’s hideout, gunfire was exchanged, resulting in 3 dead.
The Dramatic Heist Was Straight Out of Hollywood
The video taken of the heist was from a distance. However, the video clearly shows that the vehicle the thieves were driving had rammed its nose beneath the rear end of the truck holding the frozen chicken. At least two people were filmed standing on the hood of the smaller vehicle, where they had broken open the back doors of the chicken truck. The video then showed the people tossing frozen chicken back to the others in the getaway vehicle. Meanwhile, all of this was done as the two vehicles were speeding down a highway.
Those on social media called it a “Hollywood-style heist.” Officials allegedly soon confirmed that they learned about the incident from the video and not from a report. Reportedly, the transport company also found out about the theft from the viral clip and not from the truck driver.
Though the heist was somewhat impressive, to say the least, as it involved fancy car maneuvers, high risk, and not a lot of time to complete the burglary, things didn’t end well for the group who took off with the frozen chicken.
More Like Beaky Blinders
According to authorities, those responsible for the chicken theft turned out to be six people allegedly involved in a gang. Members of the group had previously been accused and convicted of several felonies, including possession of a weapon without a license, robbery by force, drug trafficking, attempted murder, and causing permanent disability.
Authorities tracked the thieves to hideouts in Qalyubia and Cairo, but when the police approached, those in the hideouts began shooting. The resulting gunfire led to the deaths of three of the gang members. Police arrested those still alive after the shootout.
At the hideouts, authorities reportedly discovered the vehicle used in the incident, numerous guns, including shotguns and automatic rifles, some of the frozen chicken, and inventory from other unrelated burglaries. The surviving suspects now supposedly face multiple charges, including shooting at security forces and armed robbery.
