Estranged Brother of Trump Aide Natalie Harp Claims Her Fierce Loyalty to the President Stems From a Childhood Delusion
Unwavering devotion.

Natalie Harp’s brother just called out what he sees as her “unhealthy obsession” with Donald Trump, and the internet is still processing the fallout. Preston Harp, the estranged sibling of the Trump aide, sat down for an interview this week and didn’t hold back. According to Us Weekly, he claimed Natalie’s fierce loyalty to the president stems from a childhood delusion about American exceptionalism, one their mother instilled in them both.
The interview dropped the same day a wild report surfaced about Harp once riding in the trunk of an SUV just to stay close to Trump during a court appearance. Preston didn’t mince words during his appearance. He said their mother raised them to believe the U.S. is “the boss of the world,” and Natalie never outgrew that mindset.
“Trump is everything my mom taught us to respect,” he explained. “I think that’s where her infatuation for Trump comes from, honestly. Because I don’t think it’s a physical attraction, let’s get real.” He later added that she’s “his biggest fan,” which probably explains why Trump keeps her so close.
The trunk incident is just the latest in a string of eyebrow-raising moments for Harp
Back in October 2023, Trump was heading to a New York City courthouse when staffers realized there wasn’t enough room in the motorcade for her. Harp wasn’t having it. Sources say she got into a screaming match in the lobby of Trump Tower, insisting Trump had personally asked her to attend. When she was denied a seat, she climbed into the trunk of an SUV. A photo obtained by CNN confirmed the bizarre move.
Preston also reacted to the trunk story, calling it “crazy” and “sad.” “That’s obsession,” he said. “That’s an unhealthy obsession with someone if you’re going to jump into the trunk of their car.” His message to Natalie was simple: “I love you. I hope that you change and that you wake up and realize that everybody on this earth is part of a human family, and no country is better than any other country.”
Harp’s rapid rise in Trump’s inner circle has been nothing short of meteoric. She started as a right-wing television host and now serves as one of his closest aides, despite having no formal title on his reelection campaign. She’s known for trailing him across the country, feeding him positive stories, social media posts, and even printouts of laudatory articles.
Allies call her the “human printer” because she’s always handing Trump something to read or share. One White House adviser told CNN that Trump “likes the attention and the fact that she is 100% committed and loyal. She doesn’t second guess, doesn’t question.” That kind of unwavering devotion is rare, even in Trump’s world.
Her methods haven’t always gone over well with other staffers
Some advisers have tried to box Harp out of meetings, only to find her sitting in anyway. She’s territorial about her access to Trump and has told others she only reports to him, which has ruffled feathers in the White House chain of command.
One source said she’s so omnipresent that she’s often spotted on the outskirts of Oval Office events, nodding along as Trump speaks. She’s also part of the small group of aides who travel with him to rallies, and she’s known for her speed. Trump has even mused to allies about how “fast” she is when he asks her to find or print something. The attention on Harp ramped up earlier this month after Senator Jon Ossoff mentioned her by name during a rally.
Ossoff took a shot at Trump’s leadership, saying, “While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings. He golfs and trades stocks. See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.” The White House didn’t take kindly to the jab.
Communications director Steven Cheung fired back on X, writing, “Instead of denigrating hard-working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country.” Spokesperson David Ingle piled on, calling Ossoff a “cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama” and adding, “Nobody gives a s— what this lightweight loser says.”
The White House has consistently defended Harp
Spokesman Davis Ingle called her “one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump’s team” in a statement. Some insiders even describe her relationship with Trump as a “father-daughter” dynamic. But not everyone is a fan. Earlier this year, Trump posted and then deleted a racist video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes. The fallout was immediate.
Allies privately speculated that Harp was behind the post since she’s one of the few aides with access to Trump’s Truth Social account. No one wanted to name her directly, though. They worried that calling her out would only make Trump double down on his support for her.
Harp’s role in the White House has become a topic of fascination, especially because she’s managed to carve out a space for herself without a traditional title. She’s not just a conduit for messages between Trump and his allies; she’s also the one setting up meetings, drafting Truth Social posts, and making sure he’s always got something positive to read.
One Republican lawmaker told CNN that while they occasionally reach out to Trump directly, they always make sure Harp is in the loop. “She always responds,” the source said. “I don’t know how she manages it all.” Another source noted that she often sends lawmakers articles or notes on Trump’s behalf, further cementing her role as a key player in his orbit.
