Woman Takes Her Husband to a Pilates Class. After the Workout, He Vows Never to Come Back

Letting your spouse or partner into your world can be a fun experience when both are willing, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. That was the case with @skaftersunday (a joint account shared by married couple Sabrina and Ked).

In a TikTok video uploaded to their account, Sabrina took her “firefighter husband,” Ked, for a Pilates class, only for him to come out of it and vow never to return. He was profusely sweating and just wanted to eat. His legs were also shaking uncontrollably.

What’s more? The experience had affected Ked so much that he slipped in a little prayer before eating, asking God to heal him from the Pilates class. “Lord, we thank you for this food. We receive it and heal us from Pilates. We pray. Amen,” Ked said before taking the first bite.

“Men humbled by Pilates is one of my favorite genres”

At one point, Sabrina asked Ked if he was crying, since it looked like he was, but he denied it. He even looked away frequently, as if he were trying to avoid showing his face.

Some people in the comments section of Ked and Sabrina’s video are poking fun at Ked owing to his Pilates experience. One user wrote, “Men humbled by Pilates is one of my favorite genres.” Another commented, “I love seeing a man get humbled… it truly puts a skip in my step.”

A few others shared their own similar experiences. One user said “I used to go to burn boot camp and my husband called it my “girly gym”, I brought him for bring a friend day & he threw up.” Another remarked, “I brought my husband and he almost threw up after. He’s a personal trainer and lifts weights but he was down baaaad.” Ironically, these stories are similar to what a NYC woman experienced after an intense Pilates class.

Pilates for ‘mobility’ and weight training for ‘longevity’

Athlete Keltie O’Connor spoke in an article published in Women’s Health on September 1, 2025, about the effects of incorporating both pilates and weight training into her lifestyle. She mentioned that she had been training with weights for fifteen years and that 5 years ago she had added Pilates to her regimen. Her verdict? Neither was better than the other. They contributed individually, leading to very different results, in her case, not something one would expect.

Some of the things O’Connor noticed while doing Pilates were that it improved her mobility and helped prevent injuries, it was a “good low-intensity choice” when she lacked energy, and its “social aspect” boosted her motivation. However, individual experiences with the social element can differ, and a supportive environment isn’t guaranteed. For example, a woman in Florida was publicly shamed by her Pilates instructor. Regarding weight training, O’Connor noticed it offers better longevity benefits and is more affordable.

Speaking of results, O’Connor said, “There hasn’t really been that much change in my body. I do think if I quit weight training for months or years on end, I would lose a lot of muscle definition fast, but did I get insanely bulky from weight training, or insanely bulky from Pilates? No, you have seen my body very rarely changes, and despite doing more weights and more Pilates, it has stayed pretty consistent.”

Having said that, O’Connor’s testimony doesn’t address whether Pilates is harder than weight training, which some people in the comments section of Sabrina and Ked’s video suggested, and is otherwise a hot topic outside of this discussion. So, can O’Connor’s words really be seen as somewhat myth-busting, even though she doesn’t directly address the issue? One can draw inferences, yes, but one can truly address this issue only by gaining experience. In that case, can we all agree that Ked should take more classes, see how it makes him feel, then get back to his audience, and let them know how he feels?
