Trump Brings Up James Talarico, Says He’ll Lose Against Ken Paxton As He Hates Guns and Women
Heated Rivalry

The 2026 Texas Senate Elections will take place on November 3, 2026, and Donald Trump has some thoughts about Democratic candidate James Talarico.
In a clip that’s going viral on social media, Trump, speaking at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday, July 24, 2026, emphasizes that Republican candidate Ken Paxton is a better choice than his opponent, James Talarico, and believes the former will win. He also mentions some of his dislikes about Talarico, including the claim that he allegedly hates women.
Trump believes James Talarico won’t win the Texas Senate elections due to these reasons
Trump called Talarico “Tala-freako” and claimed that he hated guns, oil, sex, and women. He also said that Talarico was a Christian who hated Christianity:
“James Talafreako, who hates guns, hates oil, hates sex, hates women, and has said he is, quote, a Christian who hates Christianity. Other than that, I think his platform is quite good. And that means he is not going to do very well against Ken Paxton, who hopefully in Texas is going to win.”
Speaking of James Talarico, a few months ago, he voiced his opposition to billionaires.
Trump added that aside from these points, everything else about Talarico was good, but he didn’t think he would perform well against Ken Paxton, whom he believed would win the election. Trump also said that Talarico looked like the cartoon character Alfred E. Neuman, who used to appear on the cover of the humor magazine Mad. “You know what he looks like to me? Alfred E. Neuman. You remember Alfred E. Neuman? Mad Magazine. I said that guy is Alfred E. Neuman. Can’t imagine he’d win,” he said.
During the same event, Trump told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins to smile
During Friday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Trump also commented on CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins, who received the White House Correspondents’ Association Award for Excellence in Presidential News Coverage for covering an interaction between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Trump during Friday’s event.
Soon after she accepted the award, Trump took the stage and called her achievement “fake.”
I want to personally congratulate CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on receiving her award. It was all about me. It’s a fake. She shouldn’t get the award. It was a fake, but I didn’t mind. I said, Kaitlan, congratulations. But it was fake. There’s no question about it. But she’s a young, attractive woman. She never smiles. I said, ‘Kaitlan, do you ever smile? Smile. … You have a nice position. You’re at CNN fake news, you should be a happy person. So smile, Kaitlan. Just smile.’”
