The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only Live Headed To AMC+

Luckily for you, we’ve already seen the live show. The Mary Sue was in the house at the original performance. On social media, a lot of fans watching at home got to experience this concert for themselves through those clips. And, we had a written account of why this event was so special. Check out some of what our experience was for this spectacle down below.
“It was not a simple “Let’s bring Sam Reid out to sing a song and then wrap it up” situation,” Leishman clarified. “Instead, it was a 30-minute concert of songs featured throughout the entire season of The Vampire Lestat, including my two favorites from the first six episodes: “You’re Biggest Fan” and “The Loneliness”. One of which I put on my Instagram account for your listening pleasure.
“For 30 minutes, I felt as if I was watching Lestat himself bewitch a crowd. Even though some of the songs were completely new to most of the audience, they were captivated just as I was,” the critic continued. “It did make it special having heard some of the songs while watching the show though, singing along to “The Loneliness”? Breathtaking.”
How Good Is This Season Of The Show?
During the fervor for The Vampire Lestat’s build, The Mary Sue’s Rachel Leishman talked about Sam Reed’s portrayal of the iconic vampire. This season’s announcement inspired extra energy. Fans immediately began to celebrate seeing everything from Lestat’s perspective. That means the good and the bad. But the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
There is so much truth to be on earth out there, and while we don’t get the full picture from Lestat’s memories, we do get one heck of a ride.
“As captivating as Tom Cruise’s Lestat was in the 1994 film, there is something about Reid’s performance as Lestat that takes the character to an entirely new level,” Leishman argues. “From Reid’s ability to command a stage to the quieter moments where fans get to finally see the trauma he’s been through.”
She adds, “We’ve heard whispers of his past loves, his maker, and more who have hurt him throughout the run of the show but hearing those moments from Lestat’s point of view does change things. .”
So yeah, get ready to feel a bunch of things when the special hits streaming!
