Man Orders 10,000 Water Cups at Wendy’s and Finds A Flaw In The Process. Then It Says ‘No Problem’: ‘Get Rid of The…’
He tried an impossible order. The system kept going.

A TikTok creator’s attempt to stump Wendy’s artificial intelligence drive-thru assistant has sparked a fresh round of debate about automated ordering in fast food. Chef Boy R Dean (@spacejesus_21) shared a short video from a Wendy’s drive-thru that has drawn thousands of reactions. The clip opens with what appears to be Wendy’s AI greeting customers by asking, “Welcome to Wendy’s. Would you like a spicy chicken or a Classic Minions meal with bacon?”
Instead of placing a normal order, the creator responds, “10,000 water cups.” Rather than rejecting the obviously unrealistic request, the automated voice replies, “No problem.”
Then a human voice interjects, asking, “What can I get you?” The creator then continues, “Hi, I’m picking up a mobile order.”
Chef Boy R Dean, doing his part “in the AI revolution”
A text overlay on the video reads, “Doing my part in the AI revolution,” while the caption tags Wendy’s and says, “@Wendy’s get rid of the AI.” The exchange quickly generated discussion in the comments section, where viewers debated whether AI should replace humans in drive-thru lanes.
One commenter wrote, “They pushing AI so hard and nobody is asking for it.” Another added, “the immediate switch is crazy.” A third questioned how much work the technology actually saves, writing, “So they still need someone to listen and make sure the orders are real… so the AI is LITERALLY USELESS.”
The comments reflect broader opinions surrounding AI ordering systems. Wendy’s has invested heavily in voice AI technology over the past several years.
In 2023, the company announced an expanded partnership with Google Cloud to develop FreshAI, a generative AI platform designed to take drive-thru orders while recognizing conversational speech, menu customizations, and slang. According to Wendy’s, the goal is to improve order accuracy, speed, and consistency while allowing restaurant employees to focus on preparing food and serving customers.
The company has continued expanding the technology. In a 2025 update, Wendy’s said FreshAI now processes tens of thousands of drive-thru orders each day and includes features such as Spanish-language ordering as the company expands the technology to additional restaurants.
Wendy’s is not alone in testing AI at the drive-thru. Several major fast-food chains have explored similar technology. McDonald’s ended its AI voice-ordering pilot with IBM in 2024 after the test generated several widely shared ordering mistakes online. Despite ending the partnership, the company said it remains optimistic about the future of automated ordering, according to the Associated Press.
Chef Boy R Dean’s TikTok does not establish how the Wendy’s system handled the order after the clip ended, nor does it identify which restaurant location appears in the video. The incident had not been independently verified. Opinions expressed are those of Chef Boy R Dean and the commenters.
