Donald Trump’s Latest Weird AI Video Is Somehow Worse Than the Rest

If you may have been having a good day, or even already having a bad one, I’m here to make it worse for you. President Donald Trump is once again posting AI videos to the internet. However, this one is somehow worse than the rest.
In the video, “Dr.” Donald Trump offers help for what he calls “TDS.” What is TDS, you find yourself asking? It’s Trump Derangement Syndrome, as diagnosed by the “doctor” himself. TDS affects those who disagree with Trump’s actions and who find him irresponsible and unfit for leadership.
The video also hosts a slew of AI celebrities, including Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg. They give their testimonies about how they were once afflicted, but have since been cured by “Dr.” Trump. An AI Ed Norton even says that his work has slowed down and that he’s “hardly recognizable anymore.” (He was just in The Invite, which I reviewed.)
Questions certainly arise about the legality of this video as well. While it is a “parody” video, its use of AI should be alarming and should raise red flags. Supporters in the comments compare it to Saturday Night Live, but any celebrity portrayals there don’t use realistic AI like this video does.
The reactions online have understandably been poor
One user said, “Whoever creates your social media posts should be fired expeditiously on the grounds that they are just completely lame and unfunny. This is so cringe-y that it causes real physical discomfort to anyone that views it, regardless of their political leanings.”
Said another, “You can’t win in the truth so you need to create AI videos to try and convince people. Sad! Worst President Ever!”
Supporters in those comments are quick to slap down users like these, but that does not get rid of the kernel of truth that exists in their posts.
Trump’s hyper-focus on what people think about him is something that should be studied. As a public figure as influential as the President of the United States, it is expected that you will receive negativity. Trump was even a public figure for decades before this!
Maybe if he focused on actual problems he wouldn’t have to make videos like this. Maybe, instead of trying to (unsuccessfully) end birthright citizenship, he could focus on ways that would improve life in the US. Unfortunately, it seems that his focus is elsewhere, and that we should consider videos like these to be a normal occurrence.
