Most passengers hope to leave a flight with all their luggage. One man says he walked away with a phone number and what might be the boldest pickup attempt ever delivered over the cabin intercom.

According to his viral TikTok, Noah (@noah_pilato5), with his noise-canceling headphones, couldn’t figure out why the entire plane had suddenly turned to stare at him. His seatmate quickly filled him in: the flight attendant had just called out “the cute boy in 17D.”

She also says she has something to give him. What awaited him at the exit wasn’t an extra bag of pretzels, but a napkin with her name, phone number, and a special invitation. He calls it the gutsiest move a woman has ever made.

The internet, on the other hand, is focused on a different question entirely: did any of this actually happen?

What Happened on this Flight To L.A.?

Noah is calling it “the greatest shot of all time,” while others may not agree. Among his 278,000 viewers, a debate seems to be starting in the comments section.

He begins the story by saying it’s the “ballsiest” shot he’s ever seen in his life. Apparently, on the flight’s descent to Los Angeles, Noah says that he knew the landing instructions were being shared over the intercom. However, he had his noise-canceling headphones on so he couldn’t hear much.

What did get his attention, though, was when everyone started looking up at their seat numbers and then eventually landed to stare at him. Confused, he asked his seat mate what’s the staring at. That’s when they told him that the flight attendant was talking about him on the loudspeaker.

According to the seat mate, the flight attendant said something along the lines of, “To the cute boy in 17D, I have something for you before you get off the plane.”

He’s surprised, and upon disembarking, he stopped near the cockpit area. The flight attendant handed him a napkin and told him to “save it for a rainy day.”

What Was On The Napkin?

Noah says that he opened the napkin when he got to the terminal. At first, she noted that she left her name and phone number. Then he saw a message there too.

“Me and you, we’re taking a flight wherever you want to go, on me.” He assumes she meant it because it’s common for airline workers to have flight perks and benefits. His understanding is that she wanted to go on a trip with him if he’s “down.”

Noah ends the video, reiterating that it was an amazing shot, not only to speak about him in front of a 200-person flight but also to invite him on a spontaneous trip. He doesn’t say whether he’ll follow through.

Does a Cabin Crew Get Free Flights?

Following Noah’s line of assumption, it would seem that flight attendants have many perks at will. In 2025, Bloom and Fly Academy shared an in-depth description based on the different benefits airline workers get. The first one is the free or heavily discounted flights.

The cabin crew gets a set of free flights they or immediate family can use. For airline staff, they can get heavily discounted flights for themselves or family to fly on standby.

Then they have the “Buddy pass.” This perk is for family and friends of cabin crew. They can gift or bestow them to whomever they want. This is presumably what the flight attendant had in mind for Noah.

Except… Viewers Think It’s Fake

As wild as the story might seem, viewers think it’s much too far-fetched to believe it is real. Some claim the whole story is made up, while others staunchly believe he faked at least the intercom part.

The top comment with over 500 likes claims, “This absolutely did not happen lol -a flight attendant.”

A second viewer says, “The part over the loud speaker didn’t happen.” Similarly, a third viewer jokes, “I’ll take this didn’t happen for $500.”

Noah replies, “Venmo me please. It would pay for my flight.”

A few are supportive. One viewer comments, “Can’t wait for the update!” Noah responds, “Update is American Airlines has my heart.”
