‘Never have to buy any other’: Man discovers the Holy Grail of cleaning products. Then he drives an hour to Arkansas just to get it from Home Depot

A man drove to Little Rock, Arkansas, to purchase a bottle of Simple Green all purpose cleaner. The reason why? According to him, the product is the only cleaning fluid that most people need to get through pretty much any mess.
Crash (@stillyaboiicrash) recommended the product to his audience. In a video with more than 1.6 million views, the content creator said, “ I’m about to put thousands of companies out of business, and just know that I’m telling you the truth because I’m not even getting paid a dollar to say this.”
Why does he like Simple Green?
Simple Green is an all-purpose cleaner that “Cleans counters, carpet, floors, fabric, equipment and vehicles.” It’s dilutable. Those who purchase it can use “full strength” on heavier messes and more diluted versions for “daily cleaning,” according to the company’s website.
Crash said in his video that “ if you get that Simple Green… then you never have to buy any other cleaning supply ever again.” He recommended using a small amount of Simple Green and then topping it off with water.
In his video, he even gave an example of him using the product. “ I made a very greasy breakfast. It got the stove very greasy, and it took me three paper towels to clean that,” he said, while panning across his clean stove.
The content creator also recommended purchasing terrycloth towels to clean messes. “ You could literally use them for parties…. For cleaning… You could use them for literally everything. That 100 pack of terry cloth was less than… $40, and then that whole jug was less than $40. For less than $80, you have cleaning supplies for a whole entire year,” the content creator said.
Simple Green’s recommendations
In a comment to The Mary Sue, a representative gave some advice for homeowners seeking to use Simple Green products for cleaning.
“For heavy-duty cleaning, a 1:1 dilution ratio (equal parts water and cleaner) is recommended. This is best for greasy or oily messes such as those left behind on ovens, stovetops, and appliances. It’s also good for hand-washing pots and pans or pre-treating clothing stains before laundering,” the representative said. “For general-purpose cleaning, a dilution ratio of 1:10 is ideal for cleaning most hard surfaces, including sealed stone countertops, kitchen and bathroom sinks, showers, tubs, and toilets.”
They advised using a dilution of 1:30 for light cleaning and the full-strength cleaner for tough, greasy cleaning jobs on “hard rinsible surfaces.”
“We would caution against using our All-Purpose Cleaner (or any general cleaner) on very sensitive materials such as real leather, pearls, or porous surfaces that cannot be thoroughly rinsed,” the representative stated. “These surfaces often require specialty cleaners specifically formulated for that purpose.”

What do experts say about Simple Green?
Outside of Crash’s review, experts generally agree that Simple Green is a versatile all-purpose cleaner. Good Housekeeping, for instance, rated the cleaner the “best overall” when compared to products such as Clorox, Seventh Generation, Mr. Clean, and Lysol.
“It cleaned surfaces, including tile, chrome, concrete, grill grates, cooking tools, patio furniture and more with impressive results,” the publication wrote.
In response to that glowing review, professional chef Stephanie Ganz reviewed the product for The Kitchn. Ganz also had positive words for the cleaner.
“Overall, I’d say that Simple Green lives up to Good Housekeeping’s claim that it’s the best all-purpose cleaner for everyday use. From the kitchen to the bathroom to outdoors, it did good work, potentially eliminating the need for several other products,” Ganz wrote.

“It’s Simple Green for general use on hard AND fabric surfaces, Bon Ami for toilet, sink, tub, and stove top, and Sprayway for windows and glass,” they said. “That’s IT. Sommmmetimes you need GooGone, but I paid $7 for a small bottle 6 years ago and still have half of it. Terry cloths, cheap toothbrush, sponge, and a Pumie stick (for toilet stains). I use a Sh’mop with simple green for mopping which used reusable Terry cloth covers! Great video.”
Another commenter, who said she was a cleaning lady, praised Crash’s video.
“You just need a cleaner (I used diluted dish soap), a shiner (I use rubbing alcohol for windows and mirrors), and a scrubber (I used baking soda),” she said. “That’s it. Specialize if you have something specific like hardwater in the toilet will benefit from the works toilet cleaner. Oven cleaner for the oven. That’s it. Keep it simple!”
Overall, most viewers recommended Simple Green and told both burgeoning cleaners and longtime professionals to give the product a try.
