Wife Gives Her Husband His Favorite Oatmeal: ‘Enjoy Your Last Meal.’

Cooking for partners is usually seen as a gesture of love, but what if they use a secret ingredient outside of the spice rack? A woman named Katherine (@joseandkatherine) on Instagram served her husband, Jose, oatmeal for breakfast. What she told him while he was eating made him spit his food out.

Katherine happily handed Jose his favorite oatmeal for breakfast. At first, he was excited to eat—he started chomping down. She said she added protein powder to the mix.

“I love it, Katherine. How did you make it? It’s different,” he said after putting what looks to be cinnamon powder on top of the oatmeal. “It has a little bit of a different taste,” he observed. From how it looks, the oatmeal did look absolutely healthy and packed—perfect for a pre-workout meal. But other than that, the bowl looked unassuming.

Without warning, Katherine said, “I hope you enjoy your last meal.”

She didn’t even have to explain. Jose immediately took tissue paper from the counter and started spitting the oatmeal out. “Katherine! I’m just thirty years old. What are you talking last meal, Katherine?”

Needless to say, Jose’s survival instincts seem to be sharp. Most people would probably have swallowed another gulp of that oatmeal before going pale.

Impassioned, he continued, “So, you’re trying to kill me, Katherine? Katherine, we could speak. You don’t have to go there, Katherine. We could get a divorce if that’s what you want! If you don’t love me anymore, you don’t have to kill me to get rid of me!”

Does he still love oatmeal?

“Why are you doing this to me?” he asked, clearly confused and pleading for his life. “We have a family, we have a dog!” Why would Katherine take the father of her dog and child away? Jose at this point is distraught. Katherine told him that all she said was for him to “enjoy” his last meal—as if that wouldn’t send alarm bells to anyone.

“This is not okay, Katherine! I’m thirty years old! I haven’t lived life. I’ve lived nothing yet,” he said, looking like he was about to sob. Clearly, his wife thought he’d lived enough. But then, Jose noticed that Katherine was recording his agony.

“Katherine! You’re recording me!” He was extremely upset by the realization. Finally, Katherine confessed, “It’s just a joke.”

But that confession did nothing to calm Jose’s nerves. When Katherine tried to offer the oatmeal to Jose, he said, “I don’t like oatmeal. I don’t wanna know about oatmeal. Don’t give me oatmeal ever again. I don’t like it!” After a prank like that, anyone would be too disturbed to eat the item ever again—even if it was their favorite.

Instagram found Jose’s reaction to the ordeal hilarious, though. One commenter joked, “what’s his wife name again? did he mention it?”

Another asked, “I need to know if he is acting or if he really reacts like that always?” Jose does have the potential to be a big Broadway star. If Katherine said this was a play, nobody would have doubted it—Jose seems to have nailed everything from movement to projection.

Perhaps the concerning bit is that Jose immediately believed his wife was poisoning him. With all the pranks she pulls on him, he just couldn’t be too sure.
