Man proposes to girlfriend inside Zara dressing room. Now the internet can’t give them a break over the location choice: ‘Divorce in Primark’
'New fear unlocked'

There are dreamy proposal locations—beaches, rooftops, candlelit dinners—and then there’s… the Zara fitting room. Apparently, romance can be found somewhere between a pile of rejected jeans and a questionable mirror angle.
In a TikTok that has the internet doing a double-take, one man dropped to one knee mid-shopping trip, turning a routine try-on session into a full-blown engagement. Romantic? To them, absolutely. To everyone else? Let’s just say the comment section immediately started planning their sequel: “divorce in Primark.”
What Happened In This Zara?
A very awkward 12 seconds has circulated enough to gain over 5 million views in just a few days. The video itself is 22 seconds long, but it’s the first half that has viewers cringing.
Posted by Daniil (@daniilvorozhbyt), his proposal plan has been dissected and roasted over and over in the comment section. His caption simply says: “#loveyou #zara #proposal.” Straight to the point! In the clip, Daniil and his girlfriend are standing in the hallway of a Zara’s fitting room area.
The camera is propped against one of the mirrors and placed on the little seat of the fitting room. Daniil can be seen without shoes, only in white socks. The pants he is wearing also seem to have their tag still on. In the hallway, Daniil kneels on one knee and presumably gives his speech. The video’s audio is covered by Alex Warren’s “Ordinary.”
Daniil’s girlfriend covers her face with her hands in shock and laughs. The video then cuts to a series of photos of the couple posing with the ring.
Other Random Proposal Locations
Believe it or not, this Zara proposal is not the first to occur in a retail-type place. The Mary Sue covered a story where a couple went shopping for engagement rings together at a Kay Jewelers. Normal, right?
Except–told from the perspective of the employee–once they decided on a design, the man got down on one knee and started serenading his soon-to-be fiancée. That’s right, moments after buying the ring, he just took the shot.
In another story, the place might not be random, but it’s not a popular proposal location either. One man chose to propose in a St. Louis Basilica. Rare, but not unheard of. Except he probably didn’t really think it through. Right as he kneels, a stranger enters the video unexpectedly. Not your average church-goer either. This interrupter was a man apparently confessing to murders, hence his visit to the church. Unfortunately, ruining a couple’s engagement was added to his list of crimes. Maybe going for the basic beach proposal might not be such a bad idea.
