Nashville woman goes on first date after matching online. Then he imposes a 2-drink rule: ‘You dodged a bullet’

woman shares dating experience (l) man and woman out for drinks (r)

First dates are already a gamble, but this one turned into a custody battle over Italian leftovers. The TikTok saga that has the internet choosing sides like it’s a courtroom drama with breadsticks. One Nashville woman says her date encouraged her to “order whatever she wants”—so she did, with tequila, appetizers, and enough entrées to raise eyebrows.

But when the night ended and she reached for the takeout boxes, her allegedly flashy date hit the brakes: he wanted the leftovers too. Now, both parties have taken their versions to TikTok.  The viewers? Debating everything from first-date etiquette to whether this entire carb-fueled conflict was staged for clout.

Her Side of the Story

Like presenting evidence in a court case, one side’s story comes first. Sarena (@reenaaabeenaa) shares her side in a clip a little under three minutes. It currently has 32,000 views. The text overlay reads: “Guy on a first date tried to impose a 2 drink maximum rule.”

Sarena then says they met on a dating app and decided to get drinks and dinner together. When they arrived at the Italian place they had made a reservation at, their table wasn’t ready yet. They decide to wait at the bar and he admits that he’s not drinking.

“[It’s] a little weird for ‘drinks and dinner,’” she says, “but whatever. I’m still gonna have a drink.”

She says that up until that point, he was being “overly aggressive” about how much money he makes and how he can “spoil” her.”

She takes this seriously and orders tequila on the rocks. 1942, to be specific. “If he wants to treat me, I’m gonna let him treat me,” Sarena says. After 10 minutes, she gets another glass because she says she’ll “need it.” Apparently, he was not giving her any time to talk about herself. Then they finally get to their table.

The Leftovers Debacle

This is where it starts going sideways. After getting seated, Sarena says they agree to order “a little bit of everything.” She mentions that he gestures at her to order for them. She gets appetizers, entrees, and another tequila on the rocks for her. She again emphasizes that he hasn’t asked anything about her.

She also says that she’s a little “buzzed” at this point due to the alcohol. When the food arrives, she says he starts eating almost all of it. The TikToker says that after coming back from the restroom, “most of the food is gone.”

Sarena “nibbles” a bit here and there, and then the waiter comes with the bill and some to-go boxes. She offers to split the bill as a “courtesy,” but he refuses. Then they go outside to wait for her Uber.

As it arrives, she goes to grab the bag of leftovers to take with her. According to her, he “starts freaking out.” She tells him it’s because he ate most of everything. He says he should get it because he paid. Sarena says she had had enough and just grabbed the bag and went to her Uber. When he follows her, she proceeds to ignore him and gets into the Uber and goes home. On the way, she blocks him.

His Side of the Story

Now it’s Jourdan’s (@davisjourdan) turn to spill the beans. The creator alleges he was the date in question. His clip has more viewers and comments, almost 300,000 for the former and over 1,700 for the latter.

His story begins the same way, and his text overlay reads: “Having a two drink maximum on the first date.” The details shift when he mentions that he was on a 30-day no-drinking ban, but he still tells her to order whatever she wants. When she orders the tequila, he figures it’s OK because it might just be one drink anyway. After 10 minutes and no table yet, he says she starts shaking her glass to hint at wanting another. He asks her if she does, and she confirms.

Then Jourdan says to the camera, “Now me personally, I have a two-drink maximum on a first date, I’m not trying to get hammered but she’s going for no. 2 on the rocks and we haven’t even sat yet so clearly, she doesn’t abide by the same rules.”

He says she drinks three glasses before they finally sit down. Again, the details shift. He says that without consulting him, she orders everything, including another drink for her. Jourdan says she’s “giggly” with hiccups and she went to the restroom “at least four to five times.” She’s on drink number 5 when the food finally arrives.

Who Gets the Leftovers?

Now, Jourdan delves into the leftovers debate with his own detailed retelling. He claims that when all the multiple plates arrived, she wasn’t hungry anymore, so he took it upon himself to eat the food. He says that at the end, there’s still “a ton of food” left, so he orders some to-go boxes and the bill “before she can even get her next drink.”

He’s already thinking of the meals he could have later with them. Similar to Sarena’s story, as her Uber arrives, she grabs the bag with leftovers. Jourdan asks her what she was doing and she claims that she’s taking her food home. Then he negotiates to at least have the pasta. She refuses, saying she would eat it as a late-night snack.

Her reason was that she ordered the pasta, so she should be able to take it home. “Well technically, you ordered everything,” Jourdan rants. He then acquiesces and says he’ll take the chicken instead. She refuses again. She asserts that he already ate his half.

Finally, Jourdan asks if there are any leftovers she would not mind giving him. Her response? “I can’t believe you’re trying to steal all my food.” She then “stumbles” to the Uber and tries slamming the door in his face. As Sarena said, she ignores him from that point on. When he sends her a text later, he discovers he got blocked.

Is the Story Fake?

Multiple viewers are calling the entire ordeal fake, claiming both creators want to go viral. Some believe only Jourdan’s side, while speculating that Sarena is trying to piggyback off his viral clip. To be fair, his clip was posted first, but only for about a day.

However, her text overlay claimed the “two drink maximum rule” he did, but nowhere in her retelling did she ever say those words, meaning she must have seen it from his clip.

She couldn’t have known he had that rule unless she had seen his video, as it was something he thought to himself but never said aloud. In her clip, Sarena has not answered any comments. On Jourdan’s, he has provided more details, such as the cost of the date, which was apparently $400.

He also replies to viewers, insisting that his story is not fake. One viewer comments on his clip, saying they saw “her” video. Jourdan replies, “That’s not her lmao. I’ve never seen her in my life.” It’s unclear if both of them were talking about the same video.

Viewers Enjoy the Popcorn Time

In Sarena’s comment section, most viewers side with Jourdan. One viewer simply says, “You became wrong when you ordered tequila on the rocks.” Another says, “Without even hearing his side, I’m on his side.”

“Nah, he paid he should take the food. You could have bought new food with all the money you SAVED from him paying for the bill. On his side,” claims a third viewer.

On the other hand, Jourdan’s comment section is filled with different kinds of opinions. One viewer jokes, “That was not a date she was getting groceries.” A second speculates, “She had this planned. You did nothing wrong.”

A third claims, “You had no boundaries is what you did wrong.”

Lastly, one viewer says, “You did nothing wrong! You dodged a bullet !!”
