Shrinkflation, customers say, has touched almost every category, from grocery store staples to restaurant meals, and now, possibly, cheesecake slices at The Cheesecake Factory.

TikTok creator Lecia (@lyricallylecia), who says she hasn’t ordered from the chain in a while, was surprised by the portion size after picking up her order.

Did Cheesecake Factory Slices Get Smaller?

In her video, which got over 419,000 views, she takes a closer look at what she ordered and asks viewers if they agree that the slices have gotten smaller.

“I know it’s actually insane to get this after Pilates,” she says, showing a bag full of cheesecake slices. “But it’s my sister’s birthday and she likes the pineapple cheesecake… But why is it so skinny?”

She compares the slices to what she remembers ordering in the past.

“Back in the day, I used to always get a Celebration cheesecake after work, and it was a slice,” she says. “This is not a slice of cheesecake. This is a sliver of cheesecake.”

The clip then cuts to her taking the slices out of the box and inspecting them one by one.

“This pineapple one, very skinny… The Oreo one, a little bit better…” she says. “This is the caramel, the Dulce de leche, that’s a sliver as well.”

Only the celebration slice meets her expectations.

“This one is the only one that kind of resembles what I remember it being, like, an actual full slice of cake.”

She says if portions are getting smaller, prices should reflect that.

“I feel like if they’re gonna give us these sliver of cakes, they should cut the price a little bit,” she states. “Like, it’s not fair to us. Not okay.”

In the caption, she added, “I haven’t had it in a while so maybe it’s me, idk.”

Commenters Agree

In the comments, viewers largely agreed that the portions don’t look the same as they used to.

“Their slices used to be HUGE,” one person wrote.

Others claimed the portion depends on whether you order takeout or dine in.

“They skimpppp if you ain’t at a table,” another said, with others echoing that dine-in portions seem more generous.

“For $13 I need a bigger slice honeeeeey,” a third added.

Was The Cheesecake Factory Hit By ‘Shrinkflation’?

Other customers online say yes.

On Reddit’s r/cheesecakefactory, one user wrote, “They’re definitely smaller! I remember getting massive slices and not being able to finish them in one sitting… Now, they’re all gone in a matter of minutes!”

Another claimed the way cakes are cut has changed. “The cheesecakes used to have 8 slices in each now its 12 slices for each,” they wrote.

Curiously, though, despite claims that slices are smaller, calorie counts appear to have increased over time. The Original Cheesecake is listed at around 830 calories as of 2026, while a blogger documented a slice at about 665 calories back in 2011.

It’s unclear whether the recipe changed, portions varied by location, or both.
