Chad notes that the first day of filming was at the park’s entrance, where the big globe was located. He was excited to go on the rides but was instead asked to pose for a few shots, which he did. However, what he did caused all the photos and videos to become unusable, leading the brand to refuse payment because the agreed deliverables were not met. So, what exactly did Chad do that cost his family so much? Keep reading to find out.

TikTok user @chadwfranke explains how he ruined a brand deal

After Chad was asked to pose with his family for a brand collaboration, he reluctantly agreed and appeared in the content. But in the video and some photos, he was making strange faces and doing weird gestures, such as raising his middle finger or making distorted faces, which didn’t look good on camera.

While no one raised any questions when the content was being recorded or asked Chad to fix his expression, his mother later sent the footage to the editor, who said the content was mostly unusable because Chad appeared in it. Wet Ones then told Chad’s family they couldn’t complete the payment or the deal, because they had failed to meet their expectations.

How much do creators/influencers earn through brand deals on average?

According to a piece published by Influize on January 20, 2026, it is difficult to determine how much brands are willing to pay creators to promote their products. However, based on available data, estimates can be made.

The source states that Nano-level creators are paid between $25 and $250 for a brand deal. Mid-level creators, on the other hand, typically earn between $5,000 and $10,000. Mega-level creators, the highest tier among the three, are paid around $20,000 or more.

The article by Influinze notes that brand deals and collaborations with creators or influencers do not always involve cash payments. Sometimes, they are compensated through other means as well. They can be categorized as follows:

Gifting- involves brands providing influencers with free products instead of monetary compensation.
Affiliate marketing deals- enable influencers to earn a commission on each sale through tracking links or codes.
Ambassadorships- involve influencers partnering long-term with a brand, often on a multi-month retainer.
Integrated partnerships-often see major influencers co-creating products, such as makeup lines, or taking equity stakes.
