As Justin Bieber copes with serious health concerns, his sister-in-law’s alleged assault case raises the stakes with a looming prison sentence

Justin Bieber has reasons to worry, and this time it is not about his health. It is about his sister-in-law.
Hailey Bieber’s elder sister, Alaia Baldwin Aronow, could face upto 1 year in prison due to her actions back in February 2024 if found guilty during her April 23rd hearing, as per a news piece shared by Page Six on January 27, 2026. The incident involved Aronow allegedly throwing a tampon at a bartender and attacking two bouncers at Club Elan in Georgia. According to details obtained by US Weekly, prosecutors brought four charges against Aronow: simple battery, battery, simple assault, and criminal trespass. As per the same source, Aronow’s actions during the time involved throwing a tampon at a woman (as mentioned previously), tearing off the hair of an individual’s scalp and striking another person in their genitals.
The Page Six article previously mentioned delved deeper into the incident and highlighted that the police report and security footage documenting the occurrence depicted Aronow “forcing her way” into an employee bathroom, which was locked. Bartender Haleigh Cauley, who was one of the few on the receiving end of Aronow’s attack, said that she had requested to use the employee bathroom for a while to be able to change her tampon and was granted permission to do the same. However, Cauley claimed that after Aronow entered the restroom, “a few minutes later,” she removed her tampon and threw it at her. At this moment, security intervened in the matter and removed Aronow from the club, but while they were doing so, she was repeatedly assaulting them. Video footage of the incident shows Aronow fighting the bouncers by “grabbing and pulling hair”, the hair of one of them, and hitting another in the genitals. Since the charges were brought against Alaia Baldwin Aronow, she has gone back and forth about some of her claims. For instance, while she initially claimed that she had not thrown her used tampon at Cauley, she later took back her words and admitted to throwing it. As for the claims of her forcing herself into a bathroom, she has denied it, and she has also denied the allegations of her attacking bouncers and suggested that she acted in such a manner to defend herself. She also claimed that she had been forcefully removed from the club, suggesting no wrongdoing on her part to be treated in such a manner.
All of this comes in the wake of Justin Bieber’s health struggles, which he spoke about back in 2022. In a now seemingly deleted post on Instagram, Bieber shared that he suffers from a rare Ramsay Hunt syndrome that has partial paralysis of her facial muscles, restricting movement. While he has been doing better in the last couple of years, as perthe latest updates, the news about his sister-in-law, Alaia Baldwin Aronow, is indeed a big blow during a period of struggle.
