What is The Traitors?
The Traitors is a social deduction game based on Mafia, a game created in 1986 at Moscow State University. There are a large team of “faithfuls” and a smaller team of “traitors” hiding among them, the latter of whom get together every night and “murder” a player, removing them from the game. Their identity is only to the traitors (and all of us watching along at home).
It’s up to the faithfuls to use their social skills and other strategies to root out the traitors, with players banished by popular vote every evening. If there are any traitors left at the end of the final episode, they win the game. Despite their clear numerical advantage, faithfuls often find it difficult to identify traitors, proving the importance of information in winning the game.
The show is filmed in Ardross Castle, in Scotland.
How many seasons of The Traitors has there been?
This is the fourth season of The Traitors in the U.S. The show is an international success, with hit ratings in many other countries.
This season began on January 8 with a three episode drop. A further two appeared on January 15, but January 22 saw only one new episode. The show will continue to release one episode a week until the Februrary 26, when the eleventh and final episode will be released alongside a reunion show.
