A Trump sympathizer is stirring controversy by asking all the wrong questions during a time of intense political turmoil

In the context of the current political climate, when you encounter someone’s profile on social media and see the words “Proud American” in their bio, you might automatically assume that this person is a supporter of Donald Trump and MAGA. In 99 per cent of the cases I’ve observed, my assumptions have been correct, but if your experiences differ, you are certainly entitled to your perspective. I’m just sharing an observation based on my experiences. And why do I say this? You’ll find out about that later.

Hollywood is currently grieving the loss of the legendary actor, screenwriter, and producer Rob Reiner (78), who passed away at his home in Brentwood alongside his wife, Michele Singer Reiner (68), on December 14, 2025, according to TMZ. The same source highlights that the bodies of the Reiners were discovered by one of their daughters, who then informed the authorities about a person she believed could be involved in the incident. TMZ also reported that, based on various reports, they learned that Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner’s son, Nick Reiner, had been arrested by the authorities. As of this writing, The New York Times has revealed that Nick will be charged with the murders of his parents.

As the news of Rob Reiner’s death spread, many individuals came forward to offer their condolences to the Reiner family. Numerous people took to their social media accounts, especially Instagram, to share their experiences of Rob Reiner. Some of those who wrote heartfelt messages about him included Zooey Deschanel, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Barack Obama. While most people had positive things to say about the Reiners, Donald Trump’s comments were notably negative. He had nothing good to say in his Truth Social post regarding Rob Reiner’s death. He criticised the situation and Rob by stating that his death was due to a “massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

Many individuals, including MAGA supporters, called out Trump for his insensitive remarks and requested that he delete his post, but he remained unbothered. However, within the MAGA community, some continued to support Trump. For example, one person, who describes themselves as a “Proud dad and Proud American,” in their X bio, attempted to defend Trump’s insensitive remarks about Rob Reiner by sharing various clips of Robert De Niro harshly criticising Trump. This person’s X (formerly Twitter) post that accompanied the video, quite shockingly, read:

“This is a purely hypothetical question. I am in no way wishing harm on anyone. I hope that Robert De Niro lives a long and beautiful life. After watching this video, answer this. If De Niro were to tragically meet an untimely demise, do you think that Trump should post nice things about him? I assume that the most common answer will be “just don’t comment.” That’s probably the correct answer, but it’s probably also something that Trump would not be capable of doing.”

I can’t believe I just read that. But what’s even more shocking is that several people commented on his post and agreed with his remarks.
