Nezuko in Demon Slayer.

How Strong Is Nezuko From ‘Demon Slayer’?

Just how powerful is Nezuko, anyway?

The younger sister of the main character, Tanjiro Kamado, Demon Slayer’s Nezuko was attacked by the anime’s main antagonist, Muzan Kibutsuji, and transformed into a demon. Since then, she has been training alongside Tanjiro to turn back into a human and help him slay Muzan, the King of Demons. She’s fought quite a few demons herself up to this point in the Demon Slayer anime and manga, but the question still remains: how strong is Nezuko, anyway? Bear in mind that spoilers for the Demon Slayer anime and manga will follow in this explanation.

Nezuko’s Strength

The short answer: Nezuko is insanely powerful. Despite being a demon, Nezuko has found several ways to circumvent the negative consequences of her condition. Her strong willpower is easily her greatest trait, as with it she was able to resist the urge to feed on blood and instead regains her strength through extended sleep. This was especially shown when Nezuko refused the blood of Sanemi Shinazugawa, despite him flaunting his bloody arm in front of her face. Refusing to feed on blood initially made Nezuko weaker and gave her a greater gap to overcome when fighting other demons, but her willpower later contributed to huge power boosts during several battles, most notably when she used her awakened form for the first time when fighting against Daki, an Upper Rank demon.

Nezuko also shows proficiency with her Blood Demon Art, developing it in her own time rather than using the blood of humans to strengthen it. Her Blood Demon Art allows her to effectively control her own blood, such as in her fight against Daki (where she congeals her own blood to prevent herself from being sliced apart). Her Blood Demon Art lets her blood explode into demonic red flames that notably do not hurt humans, with this technique only being effective against demons. Nezuko’s most significant trait, however, is her immense growth, which is likely due to a combination of the amount of blood she received from Muzan and her willpower.

To conclude, Nezuko is a formidable powerhouse within the anime and is probably one of the strongest main characters in the series. Her traits make her highly desirable to Muzan, as he is still attempting to track her down. Nezuko, however, still remains with the group and continues to prove how powerful she is as a demon, still holding the resolve to protect all humans.
