Doctor Strange in prison in the multiverse of madness trailer

Sir Patrick Stewart Says “Who’s Doctor Strange?” When Asked About Multiverse of Madness Appearance

You’re not going to get a spoiler out of Sir Patrick Stewart. Whether it is from his training in Star Trek throughout the years or his run around with the X-Men in the past, Stewart knows how to keep a secret, and he knows how to keep the Marvel gods happy in the meantime. Currently, there are rumors that Sir Patrick Stewart will be making a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Professor Charles Xavier in the upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

And by “rumors,” I mean to say that we all heard his voice in the movie’s trailer and are now confused by what it means, and whether it really was Sir Patrick Stewart we heard. So, it isn’t surprising that Stewart has been asked about the trailer as he makes the rounds in the press in the lead up to the second season of Star Trek: Picard.

In an interview with Yahoo News!, reporter Ethan Alter asked Stewart about the voice we hear in the trailer, and Stewart responded with a “Who is Doctor Strange?” response.

Patrick Stewart was also asked the question by ComicBook.com‘s Jamie Lovett, and Stewart said, “You know, people have been imitating my voice ever since I came on the stage 60 years ago. So, I can’t be held responsible for that.”

Sir Patrick Stewart knows the Marvel game

Even if we saw his face and saw him talking to Stephen Strange, I do not think that Patrick Stewart would give anything away. He’s a master of this game by now and has managed to keep things hidden through his many years as Charles Xavier. So, I don’t think that he’d talk about his involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while promoting Picard, even if we knew for a fact that he’s in the movie.

All that being said, I do think his reaction to both of these questions is a sign that it really is his voice in some way or another. That doesn’t mean he’s Charles, but I do think he’s in the movie because otherwise, he could have simply said, “Nope, I’m not in it,” in the same way that Ryan Reynolds did (even though no one believes him, either).

It’s a complicated game, and it keeps getting harder, as we all care about these movies and want to know what’s coming next for our favorite characters. I think that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to have some cameos that have us screaming in the theater in a similar way to No Way Home but I don’t know who those cameos will be.

One of them though could really be Stewart but we are not going to get an answer out of him.
