Brooklyn Nine-Nine rides again with NBC swooping in to pick up the series for a 13-episode sixth season. The decision comes after the fan favorite series was canceled at Fox after five seasons on Thursday. Since then, Brooklyn‘s producing company Universal Television had been in talks with several streaming networks to revive the series, before it ultimately found a home at NBC.

“Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment. “Mike Schur, Dan Goor, and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC and we’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up. I speak for everyone at NBC, here’s to the Nine-Nine!”

Fans of the critically acclaimed series were devastated when Fox canceled the show and quickly took to social media to save the Nine-Nine. Their efforts clearly paid off, with #SaveB99 and #RenewB99 trending worldwide on Twitter. The hashtags were boosted by celebrity fans like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sean Astin and Mark Hamill. Hulu, Netflix, and TBS were all rumored to be looking at reviving the series before NBC signed on.

We’re beyond excited that Brooklyn Nine-Nine got rescued. In addition to being hilarious and heart-warming, the show is effortlessly inclusive and progressive. It’s the kind of show the world needs more of. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, we’ll ride along with you any day. Now if you’ll excuse us, it’s time for a victory dance.
