Zack Snyder on Justice League: Superman Has a Big Role. Meaning… Figuratively? Literally? Both?

Recommended Videos

Zack Snyder just did an interview about Justice League, and some quotes from that interview have already leaked—specifically, quotes about Superman’s status. The Man of Steel has been noticeably absent from promotional marketing for the Justice League movie, which makes sense if you’ve seen Batman v Superman. Spoilers for Batman v Superman to follow, by the way.

At the end of BvS, Superman dies… kind of. It’s heavily implied that he doesn’t stay dead. It sounds like Snyder addresses this in the upcoming interview, which is slated to appear in Empire magazine, eventually. According to CBR, Snyder had this to say about Supes: “Superman does play a big part in this movie. His presence, and lack of presence, are big story points.”

Okay, so does that mean that Henry Cavill will be showing up to film scenes for this movie? Or is it going to take him a long time to crawl out of the ground… so long, in fact, that he won’t show up until Justice League 2 (or whatever it’s called)? Is Superman’s “big role” in Justice League figurative, or literal?

Feel free to weigh in, folks, on which you’d prefer to see. Would you rather see a Justice League story that is merely haunted by Superman’s memory? Or are you hoping that he flies in, like a speeding bullet, to turn the tide?
