Things We Saw Today: New Blade Runner 2049 Photos Show Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in Action

New Blade Runner 2049 photos have arrived and Harrison Ford does not look like he’s here for any of it.  Set 30 years after the events of the first film, LAPD Officer K (played by Ryan Gosling) uncovers a secret that could unravel what remains of the rest of society. The revelation sends him on the search for ex LAPD blade runner Rick Deckard (played by Harrison Ford), who’s been missing for three decades.   • Director Ava DuVernay talks about her harrowing documentary 13th and how it relates to this upcoming era of Trump.  “These are dark times for a lot of people who believe differently than our incoming administration, but there’s also joy there, and there’s also something in unifying around the things that we do believe in,” she said.   • Viola Davis opens up about being “blissfully comfortable” at 51. “The fall hasn’t happened. I’ve been blissfully comfortable in my own skin,” she said “I think what’s happened is probably just so many years of not feeling comfortable, that maybe I just got tired.   • President Barack Obama is getting a fish named after him. A pink, yellow and blue coral-reef fish found in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands will be now be call Tosanoides obama, in his honor. Neat. (via Live Science)
  • John Wick fans, get excited. In addition to a sequel, it’s being adapted into a comic series in 2017. A creative team hasn’t been assembled yet but artist Giovanni Valletta did provide a few pencil drawings.  (via Comic Book Resources)
