Laverne Cox & Her Trailer for The Trans List Are Here to Tell You That You Are Enough

Recommended Videos

Laverne Cox has to be one of the most prominent trans women in pop culture and media today. She’s often leveraged her position to spread awareness and knowledge about trans people in America. It’s fitting, then that The Trans List, a new documentary produced by her and HBO, is yet another project that promises to be an intriguing look at some of the most iconic trans people of our time.

Seeing as how we live in a time when awareness and public knowledge about trans people are (as TIME put it) at a tipping point, it’s crucial that projects like these be seen and shared. The stories within are stories that often go unsaid or, as in the case of Miss Major Griffin-Gracy’s connection to Stonewall, erased. She was, after all, one of the people there at Stonewall when it was raided, thus triggering the subsequent riots which became a watershed moment in LGBTQIA history.

Accompanying Miss Major in The Trans List are: Kylar Broadus, Caroline Cossey, Buck Angel, Nicole Maines, Amos Mac, Laverne Cox, Caitlyn Jenner, Bamby Salcedo, Shane Ortega, and Alok Vaid-Menon. With a list of folks like that, this documentary is one that I know I’m going to have to see. I’d suggest you do too, because let’s be honest, trying to gain a little understanding of other people’s lives is, now more than ever, so incredibly important.
