We’ve seen a lot of good pranking fun emerge from the set of the Jumanji sequel, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson alongside Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Nick Jonas. While the cast is still in the heart of Hawaii filming (and continuing to mess with each other all the way), Johnson took time out to confirm to fans via Instagram that the release date of the film has been pushed back by a couple months.
Originally, the Jumanji sequel had been scheduled for a release in Christmas of this year before being pushed back to July 2017. Now, the film has been pushed back again to December 22, 2017, and it sounds like The Rock is all for making it a holiday experience for audiences. As he says in his Instagram post, it means he’ll be helming three movies between this winter and next–Disney’s Moana will be out in November 2016, and while we won’t be spending our summer in the world of Jumanji, maybe getting to see it at Christmastime will make us feel a little warmer in the middle of a chilly December.
Filming hasn’t yet wrapped on the project, so no doubt there are a lot more videos of the Jumanji cast pranking each other to come. We already know there will be at least one scene of The Rock riding a motorcycle while setting off a flamethrower strapped to his arm–you know, classic family fun.
