Phineas and Ferb Creators Have a New Disney XD Animated Series Coming with ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic & Ming-Na Wen

Jeff “Swampy” Marsh and Dan Povenmire, the creative minds behind Phineas and Ferb, have cooked up a brand new animated series for Disney XD, and they’ve recruited “Weird Al” Yankovic to voice the lead character.

Milo Murphy’s Law is the story of a kid named Milo (played by Yankovic) whose bad luck is inherited. Learning to expect the unexpected, he carries around a backpack full of handy gadgets that help him through his many daily disasters. Along for the ride are his best friends Zack (MeKai Curtis, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) and Melissa (Sabrina Carpenter, Girl Meets World).

The series will also feature the voices of Sarah Chalke (Scrubs, Roseanne), Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Vanessa Williams (Soul Food, Ugly Betty), Mackenzie Phillips (So Weird, American Grafitti) and Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), as well as Diedrich Bader (Veep, BoJack Horseman) and Pamela Adlon (King of the Hill, Bob’s Burgers) playing Milo’s parents. Ming-Na Wen, whom you’ll recognize as Melinda May on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and as the voice of Mulan, will also swing into action as a “high-level time-travel agent,” according to the A.V. Club.

With a cast like this, I think it’s safe to say this show could be worth watching when it debuts on Oct. 3. You won’t have to wait that long, however, as the pilot will soon be available to stream on Sept. 26.
