Get Stoked About Moana With This Rad Sneak Peek

Recommended Videos

We’re still a long ways away from Disney’s Moana, which premieres on November 23rd, just in time for your holiday Thanksgiving movie viewing. This is something Disney must understand, because they rang in the new year on the Disney Channel with this super sweet sneak peek preview of the movie, featuring some of the first looks at full shots from the movie.

Oh, and the Rock. The Rock, who plays demigod Maui, is totally in this sneak peek, too. And we can’t really talk about this movie without talking about the Rock, can we? And we absolutely cannot forget the titular character (and soon to be Disney’s newest princess), Moana, played by Auli’i Cravalho. Moana will be the very first Pacific Islander/Polynesian princess within the Disney princess pantheon.

That is seriously freaking exciting and I cannot wait to see all the little kids who are happy about seeing a princess like themselves on the big screen. This is a big deal, make no mistake. It’s extra special because Cravalho is herself a Hawaiian native–just the type of person to play this role, really.

Representation! Diversity! Actual representatives of the displayed culture playing those roles! Wow, it’s almost like this is what movie making should be like.

What did you think of the sneak peek? Are you still super stoked to catch Moana?
