Days of Future Past‘s Evan Peters Gives Us a Taste of Quicksilver’s Role in X-Men: Apocalypse

You didn't see that—wait, wrong Quicksilver.

Marvel’s Quicksilver may be out of commission, but he’s still very much alive in Fox’s X-Men movieverse, and his gotta-go-fast antics won’t be absent from the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. Prepare for more timeless action sequences.

After a quick clarification that Apocalypse won’t feature zombies—much to Peters’ disappointment—actor Evan Peters, who will reprise his role from Days of Future Past, explained to Details where we could expect Quicksilver’s story to go in the new movie:

But the story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world.

[Ahem. Possible spoilers ahead. If you’re not too familiar with the character in comics, now might be a good time to, uh, cover your eyes and ears and tune out.]

Quicksilver in Days of Future Past

This should come as no great surprise to comics fans, who know Quicksilver to be the son of Magneto (historically, anyway), which was hinted at in Days of Future Past.

Quicksilver in Days of Future Past

With Magneto teaming up with Apocalypse himself in Apocalypse and Quicksilver on the opposing side, it seems we’re in for a rather messy family reunion.
