just another day on Newbury St. please help me find and identify this creep. not only did he film my crotch and backside, along with the same of at least 8 other women that i personally witnessed in less than 10 minutes, but I decided to confront him after watching him do the same to 2 girls who could not have been more than 14 years old. DISGUSTING.

A video recently went viral of Boston woman Jase Dillan filming and following a man who had been secretly filming her with the above description.
Dillian, who spoke to Cosmopolitan, said he was “zooming in on crotch areas,” and although she called the police she “wasn’t just going to let this guy get away.” “If he felt it was OK to film girls’ private areas, I thought it would be OK to film his face,” she says.
In the video, the man keeps trying to avoid her, first denying his actions and then proclaiming, “Why do you think I would need your permission?” She exclaims, “Oh, am I making you uncomfortable? You don’t like being filmed without your permission? Because that’s what you were doing,” and even points out his wedding ring.
While it’s legal to film a clothed person, the man’s actions were clearly vile and intrusive and shouldn’t be tolerated. I’ve seen a couple internet commenters on various sites saying that they weren’t entirely comfortable with Dillan’s decision of responding to the harassment by mimicking his behavior. Filming and pursuing someone without their consent like the man did is unacceptable behavior, to be sure, but I would say that context and intent is very important in this situation.
The creeper–who has not been identified–is a dangerous man, and it’s unclear what he wanted with those videos. Dillan’s account that he filmed “young underage girls” is predatory behavior and she shared her video with a police officer to help identify him. She also wants to make it clear that this is not about just this one man, but the many creepy guys out there who target women.
And honestly, if you don’t agree with her actions, that also proves a need to reconsider these laws about privacy. Jezebel points out that when Fox Boston ran the story, they blurred out the man’s face. Even if you don’t necessarily condone Dillan’s actions, it should be clear that the man should absolutely face consequences and similar creepy actions shouldn’t be tolerated.
