Madeline L’Engle’s 1962 book A Wrinkle In Time has so many things to love. An emotionally immature adolescent protagonist who also happens to be female? Yes please. Ancient supernatural beings who act as the hero’s advisors and guardians, who also happen to be female? Heck yes. And now, an upcoming movie adaptation from the female writer who made Frozen? Holy Tessarects, are we excited.

Jennifer Lee, who co-write and co-directed Frozen with Chris Buck, will be adapting A Wrinkle In Time as her next project for Disney. Currently there isn’t a director attached, but Catherine Hand (who produced the 2003 TV movie version of the same book) and Jeff Whitaker (The Odd Life of Timothy Green), will be on board to produce.

Fans of the Murry and O’Keefe families will note that this is not the first time Disney has toyed with the idea of bringing them to the big screen; an adaptation was first announced in 2010, with a screenplay by the Bridge To Terebithia movie’s Jeff Stockwell. However, considering Lee’s recent success as part of Walt Disney’s Animation story trust (in addition to co-writing the highest grossing animated film ever, she also co-wrote Wreck it Ralph a few years ago, and reportedly had a hand in Big Hero 6 as well), odds are that this time this film will get made.

Even better news: according to Variety, the book “was one of Lee’s favorite novels as a child, and she impressed Disney executives with her take on the project, which emphasizes a strong female-driven narrative and creatively approaches the science fiction and world-building elements of the book.” Yeah, that sounds like something we’re going to need right now.
