Marvel Entertainment Marks Its Territory on 5 New Movie Release Dates Through 2019

I think I'm most excited to see Unannounced. You?

Marvel’s superhero movie universe isn’t slowing down any time soon, and they’ve plotted out their schedule all the way through 2019. The dates add five new, unannounced movies to their plans for the next five years, so get ready for rampant speculation about what they might be. (Judging by James Gunn’s comments, maybe a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel?)

Here’s the full schedule, including the movies we already know about along with the new ones:

2015

May 1: The Avengers: Age of Ultron

July 17: Ant-Man

2016

May 6: Captain America 3

July 8: (Possibly the already announced Doctor Strange)

2017

May 5: Untitled

July 27: Untitled

November 3: Untitled

2018

July 6: Untitled

November 2: Untitled

2019

May 3: Untitled

And yes, James Gunn is already talking about a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, telling ScreenRant what we all pretty much knew: “I’m actually in a somewhat weird position because if the movie does well, the I’m gonna make the sequel. And if it does okay then, well, I’ve already been offered other movies but I can only do those other movies if I don’t do the sequel, so it’s a weird situation.”

So, if we all go see Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s pretty likely the sequel will take one of these dates. There’s also the possibility that one of them is a standalone Hulk movie. Maybe the last one is Avengers 3, which will cause a superhero critical mass, and the entire medium of film will implode and end movies forever? And maybe, just maybe, one (or more) of these dates will feature one of Marvel’s female characters? Black Widow, Captain Marvel, perhaps even the new Thor?
