Conan Is Back Onstage, and He Will Survive [Video]

Conan O’Brien is doing pretty damn well for himself. With news already out that he’ll be heading back to television on TBS this fall, Coco kicked off his 32-city live Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television tour last night in Eugene, Oregon. Showing off a Writer’s Strike-era beard and the same wacked sense of humor that brought him to TV, reviewers were happy to see him in good form, even if this first show was uneven at times. As MTV’s Eric Ditzian wrote:

So there were highs, there were lows, but through it all, there was Coco. And it was his mere presence — the simple fact that he was back in public doing what he was born to do — that was the true payoff, for him and the audience.

Remember the classic Free Bird send off Conan played in his last appearance on the Tonight Show? Now for something completely different, but completely Conan.

Incidentally, even the touring cast of Glee has nothing on La Bamba, backup dancers, and a giant bat out of hell.
