We’re just going to pretend those are a bunch of Terminators standing behind Emilia Clarke, ready to do her bidding. Read on to find out which other actresses are testing for Sarah Connor as well as which actor from The Dark Knight Rises director Alan Taylor would like for John Connor.

Last we heard on the Terminator reboot project was that Taylor was in talks to direct what is supposedly going to be a new trilogy. Although we still don’t know anything about the plot (my hope is they don’t forget Sarah is the main protagonist), new reports are suggesting certain casting decisions already in motion.

The Hollywood Reporter writes, “The testing will begin next next week, with Taylor seeing Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, Brie Larson (The Spectacular Now) as well as another actress vying for the role of young Sarah Connor. Margot Robbie’s name has also surfaced in connection with the role.”

While I’m personally very excited to see Clarke’s name on the list, it shouldn’t be surprising. Before landing his directing gig for Thor: The Dark World, Taylor’s resume was populated with six Game of Thrones episodes, including “Fire and Blood” and “Valar Morghulis.” But the iconic mom isn’t the only one being searched for.

“Taylor will also be searching for his young Kyle Reese, the man who will father John. Those actor tests will occur at a later date but insiders say Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) is on the short list although sources say reports of Boyd Holbrook are off the mark,” writes THR. “But John Connor is also back and sources say Taylor’s wish list starts with Tom Hardy (Christopher Nolan’s memorable Bane in The Dark Knight Rises), although at this stage not even a meeting has taken place.”

Hardy taking on the role would be another interesting choice considering his TDKR co-star Christian Bale played John Connor in the last Terminator film, Terminator Salvation. What do you think of the names being floated around so far?
