Who Says Alien Isn’t for Kids?

With his series Rated G, illustrator Justin White has given movies from Alien to Conan the Barbarian the Saturday morning cartoon treatment, reimagining the more adult-friendly fare as animation cells. It’s the only collection of fanart I’ve seen that includes The Room and Troll 2 alongside Casablanca and Psycho.

Rated G is currently on display at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles. Af you can’t get out there or would rather drool over the art from the other side of your computer screen, /Film has posted all 30 images. A few of my personal favorites are after the jump.

Kids? This is how I see everything- comically.

Is A Trip to the Moon not a kids movie?

  • Life Lessons

So wrong. I can’t unsee. And yet so funny and right. :)

Meh. I don’t think the distinction between kids and adult movies was so clear-cut back then. Technically kids back then would’ve watched it, yeah. But I imagine it was included because very few kids today would know about/watch it. Which is a shame, with those crazy aliens.

Justin has also done several designs on, if you like his art – wear it!
